Would a public school state championship really be a state championship if the winner did not have to beat the best teams in the state? They would always be the * state champion.

Sorry, missed this one. My point exactly!

I wouldn't say that NDA has the best academics out of the private schools so i would say that isn't the reason they go to NDA. They go because they always field a strong State contending soccer team. That can also be said about volleyball. I bet the soccer and volleyball girls go for the sports not the academics. Don't get me wrong NDA has top notch academics but to say that these soccer and volleyball players go there for the academics first is a little nieve.

Do you think their religious faith might have a bearing on the decision? Would an all girls environment impact the decision? Would staying with classmates that they have been with throughout grade school be a factor? Or, would all these things just be afterthoughts, taking a back seat to sports?

So why don't they all go to St Henry...Other than the all girls thingy!

Do you really want to go there?

Being very frank.......expected the score......Came here looking for the extras .....

Shouldn't be any extras. Pandas win 3-0. Outplayed the Birds. NDA looked a lot better than they did in their first meeting when they won 2-1. Think that pretty much sums it up.

Maybe it is the location of the school thingy.

What extras you want to know about? Perhaps I can fill in some gaps for you.

Interesting that you mention Arnzen and Sherrard. It is my understanding that the HHS kids were told that these girls were "over-rated" It is one thing to try and talk your team up and another to try and downplay the skill level of your opponent. Anyone with a vast knowledge of soccer knows that Mandy Arnzen is a player that you need to stop if you want to win the game. She owned the middle of the field last night and to not have her tightly marked on a corner is just plain unacceptable.

Whenever I get reports of things coaches said and the source is a kid I take it with a grain of salt. Kids miss nuance. Heck, sometimes they miss the words used. They often miss the essence or the point being made.

Could be 100% as you reported. I'm just always skeptical.

Take it as you will. Just another in a long line of things said throughout the year that cannot be taken back once they come out of your mouth and I will leave it at that.

Is it possible that a big difference from game one to game two would be the absence of a 2 year starter at midfield? One will never know I guess.

Been asking for details on what the drama has been on the sidelines......but no details ever given....

Better than a cliff hanger at the end of the season.........Who shot JR?

They already have that - it's called the "All-A" - and it's a joke, with the winner begin called the...

(asterisk, disclaimer)****** """"state champion """"********(more asterisk, additional disclaimer)

The biggest issue would be the numerous conflicts of interest that existed before, during and after the season. Jokes were made about them, but they were a direct result of about 90% of the issues that were being talked about on here.

I think KHSAA should look at moving private schools to their own division. You have 2 private schools competing for the regional title and probably NDA will advance quickly in the state. This happens year after year!!! Let the private schools battle it out in their own league!! Who really cares who wins at that point.

Of course your school would have to avoid scheduling the private schools during the regular season as well. You certainly would not want your kids subjected to a humiliating defeat at the hands of a bunch of private school kids, regardless of the point in the season.
