I will take Boyle's two best wins over HHS two best any day of the week.

Both teams at 5-0 guess we all should put them tied at #1

Ranking the victories from my standpoint:

1. Highlands vs. CovCath... dominating win over the #2 4A team

2. Boyle vs. Bullitt East... think BE has a solid team even if Boyle scraped the win

3. Highlands vs. Bryan Station.. very good team

4. Highlands vs. Campbell County... Close win but Camels have looked good

5. Boyle vs. Anderson- Lopsided win, but I just don't think Anderson is as good as they have been

6. Highlands vs. Tilghman... 1-5 record aside PT had played some solid teams competitively and Highlands crushed them

7. Boyle vs. Danville... Danville has a nice 2A squad...but if Boyle was the #1 4A team they make a statement there

Owensboro gave BG all they wanted and BG is still impressive. I think their speed compares favorably to Highlands and if they could keep their heads, could give the Birds all they want.

I think Chuck Smith has BC believing again and that is a dangerous thing. Versus Highlands, I think Coach Smith could keep the Bluebird legend out of the players heads.

Followers of these teams (not necessarily their rabid fans) could also give other objective answers to this question.

Pretty much my thoughts.

Will take BE over Cov. Cath. Anderson = Bryan Station. Campbell, well they did get Cooper but will see how they match up with Simon Kenton.

No disrespect to any of the other 4A teams but how is this even a debate as to who is #1??

Covcath Is a damn good team and Highlands absolutely destroyed them.

Since some of you like to compare scores:

Moeller 39 Covcath 0

(#20 team nationally, #1 in Ohio)

Highlands 42 Covcath 7

Give the Birds credit...that win is a lot more impressive than some of you realize.

IMO Boyle moves up one to #4 with CovCath's loss. Nothing supports Boyle being #1. NOTHING

Nothing supports Boyle County being ranked anything other than #2. NOTHING.

Has Boyle destroyed a 4A top 5 team yet?

No but they have soundly beaten the #4 team in 5A, the #6 team in 5A and the #8 team in 2A. Seeing as they are now 6-0 I don't see why they shouldn't currently be ranked #2 without debate.

It'd be even more impressive if CovCath hadn't been massively overrated and according to all accounts from people at the game didn't even show up to play. Not hard for a team to beat another team 42-7 when the other team quits at halftime.

The best team Highlands has played is Bryan Station. Tilghman hasn't been the same for a few years now. Until they can beat Mayfield or McCracken why should we expect them to be able to hang with Highlands? All 3 schools demolished Tilghman so don't even mention Tilghman and how they played some solid teams competitely. 49-21, 47-21, 49-17. Those are the McCracken County, Mayfield and Highlands scores against Tilghman.

Campbell County isn't even ranked in 6A. If they lose to SK this week by 2 touchdowns or more then what?

Everyone says CovCath quit on the field last Friday. They shouldn't be ranked in the top 5 at all and no way is that a quality win anymore. Top teams don't quit on the field.

I'm in the camp that Highlands is the #1 team in 4A and is rightfully the favorite to win the 4A title this season. I'm just not with pumping them up to be more than they have proven to be so far this season. They are still the best team in 4A to date but they aren't as overwhelming of a favorite than they have been in past seasons. Especially if Owensboro manages to defeat Warren Central this week.

Everybody keeps sleeping on Owensboro.

Collins is quietly gettting better each week as well.

The NKY bias is strong in this thread today.

I'll buy Boyle as number 2 and I too feel that the game was over hyped. Birds would have rolled up more if they didn't call off the dogs. Cov Cath's offensive scheme needs to be scrapped. All that standing around was a momentum killer for them.

I am starting to hear a lot lately that "CovCath quit" against HHS last week. I am an HHS fan and was at the game. I don't believe that CovCath quit at all. I believe that their defense got tired in the second half after dealing with the HHS hurry up offense the first two and a half quarters. For those who have not seen HHS this year, I have never seen HHS get off its plays as quickly as it does this year, especially lately. Literally when a play is over, it takes them no more than 10-12 seconds to run the next one - sometimes quicker. I believe CovCath just flat out was worn down in the second half. Things just snowballed in the second half for them and it got ugly. CovCath still has a lot of talented athletes and I expect the rematch to be much closer.
