CovCath has to show and prove for me. Just like everyone else has to do. As of now I haven't seen much from CovCath.

BG is 5A and yes they are down compared to the past few years and yes they are still the favorite to win in 5A. That's teh same for Highlands and Trinity every year. The BG program has arrived.

Fair enough.

I will say this though.... for those who are looking at the Highlands score and thinking Covcath isn't as good as touted, you're in for a rude awakening if your team meets them in the playoffs before their rematch with Highlands.

CovCath would have to beat Highlands before they would meet Boyle County. As far as I know these two teams haven't met in a very very long time. I don't think Boyle County has ever played them even back before Boyle County began winning state championships.

I'd love a Boyle County/CovCath game. That means Highlands lost. :lol2: :lol2:

If Highlands was some Johnny Come Lately Team I would be moved more by your argument but I just don't see it.

With the above said Owensboro does intrigue me. On Boyle, I can't get excited yet.

Nobody should be excited about Boyle County yet. All I am saying is that as of today they are deservedly the #2 team in 4A. I would not be surprised at all if LexCath beat Boyle County on Friday.

In my initial comment I was complimenting the BGP mindtrust, I didn't mean to say, or even imply, that a WINNING argument could be made for any of the three. I believe the Birds should be in the #1 spot based on what we have seen to date, but I refuse to count any of the top teams out or discount the opinion(s) of others.

1. Highlands

2. Boyle County

3. Owensboro

4. Everyone else till proven otherwise.

If Boyle gets by LexCath by a decent margin this weekend then the above probably stands till playoffs. BG is not THAT down this year. They are a different team but still a darn good one. Since Owensboro hung with them its a good data point to compare strength.

Everyone needs to leave CovCath alone. They are just fine the way they are.

Cov Cath has the best win of any team in 4A except Highlands - 41-7 over Dixie Heights. That win is better than any Boyle Co. win. That proves something.

Just messin with ya PP92. :isurrender:

It's all good. :thumb:

I disagree. Dixie's only win over a 6A team is against Boone County. Not buying that Dixie adds anymore schedule strength than Bullitt East or Anderson County.

From an Owensboro point of view....I think we have a really good team....but we haven't done enough,IMO, to be #1 in 4A.

Good luck this Friday!!!!

And I've been to every BG vs Owensboro game since the current series started. This BG team is not as good as the last 3 state title winners and probably not as good as the team that had all the D1 kids back in like 07-08. I would say they're better then the other BG teams during that time span thgh. They are still loaded this year. (Losing the TE was a big blow though.) I definitely will be shocked if they don't win it all again.
