duck1220 Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Let's hear it.. The coaches are all good friends and would like to have met in the finals. This should be an exciting match-up.
spindoc Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Fairview is on a roll and will hit their FT's down the stretch. But contrary to WVA Boy, I believe that Fairview will win by more than a touchdown.
LRCW Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 VanHoose will explode for thirty points and Russell will win 57-54
MBWC41 Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Fairiview 65 Russell 54 Black and Bayless too much for Russell
kinglion Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Russell does not have the personnel to handle Fairview on the inside. Black and Bayless will be too strong and dominate the boards. Fairview-52 Russell-46
WVA Boy Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 VanHoose will explode for thirty points and Russell will win 57-54 :scared:  30 POINTS!!!!! Can you say "revamped" offense!
spindoc Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I hope Vanhoose scores 50. But my gut says that the Eagles and ole Rex are destined to come out of our region to represent us in Rupp.
oldrambler Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I will take Russell over Fairview in this one, I just think that they will go in to it with something to prove.
Red Shift Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I think Russell may like playing away from home and without the expectancy of winning. They certainly seemed to play well last night and have played well away from the Furnace. It will be tough for the Devils to take Fairview inside. It was good to see Russell play well underneath last game, though they will be going up against better players on Friday. I think it will be tough to keep VanHoose quiet for all of the tournament, but if he's quiet again this game, it's much more likely that he won't get another chance. I don't look for the spread in this game to be any more than it was at Fairview last time these two met, and in fact, it should be closer. I still maintain that Russell has the chance to win this tournament - its hard to imagine this much talent going without at least a shot at going to the Sweet 16 - but they are the underdog. Fairview is probably the best team remaining, and even so they don't have the best athletes on a team in the region. If the Russell team shows up it will be an exciting game, if the Red Devil athletes show up, we will see some entertaining basketball, however Fairview should run away with it.
picknroll Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Fairview wins in a dog fight of crosstown rivals. This one comes down to rebounding and freethrows with the edge going to Fairview. Vanhoose will have a shot to win it in the closing seconds but will come up short like Russell's season has been all year. Eagles 57 Devils 55
