Being the resident astronomy geek, I have to admit, that

was a good one. One good easily come back with, "But

Scorpius will come and sting the life out of Orion and the

Eagles with the three-ball." However that would be extremely

nerdy and, more taboo, a prediction - something I would

never do. :D

We all know it will come down to which coach is the biggest Dipper, unless Vanhoose turns into Ursa Major:ylsuper:

Russell 63 Fairview 61

Vanhoose scores 20 or more.

For Russell to score 63 Vanhoose needs to score 45.

Gotta say it...I think Dodd will find a way to blow it for the Devils...All that talent (for two years) and he wants to play in the 40's....Can you say "Tubby"?

VanHoose and Blair could combine for 40, but of course Fairview is capable of pouring in the points too.

This one is a toss up... and I really hate to pick one over the other, but to be consistent, I have to go with Fairview by less than 5.

61-57 sounds about right.

Bottom line, this will be a very exciting game. :thumb:

Even if Vanhoose scores 20 there is NO WAY Russell will score over 50. The only they score over 50 is if Vanhoose has 45, that would mean Blair with 2, Gill with 2, and ????? with a free throw. Sorry but Hutch shuts Vanhoose down. He didnt "shut" Owens down but he sure contained him

 love it :thumb:

Free throws may be what keeps Russell from advancing, and advances Fairview. The Red Devils have been horrific at the line all season, the Eagles are the best in the 16th region from the stripe. Keep an eye on the FT shooting tonight. It'll make or break 'em tonight.

Blair and Gill are both capable of big games. Russell scored 73 in a win at Elliott Co a couple of weeks ago. Blair I believe had 27 in that game. If Vanhoose scores 45 Russell goes for alot more than 50.

Some of Russell's low scores are dictated by the style of play in this region. There are not to many run and gun teams. Most play sticky defense and a deliberate offense. Thats not to say that Russell isn't too conservative because IMO they are. But that is the style of play that is prevalent in the 16th region right now.

By the way, Owens may have been contained, but in the first meeting between Russell and Fairview I believe Vanhoose had 36. I don't think that qualifies as being shut down.:sssh:

I agree with nets. This game is decided at the free throw line. Fairview hits them and Russell doesn't.

Russell 45

Fairview 44

Russell 45

Fairview 44

Changing your prediction???????

I always love these "NO WAY" quotes. Ha ha. Russell with 27 at the half. Some people underestimate Blair and Gil. Both have had games in the 20's this year. Ross Turner seems to be coming on pretty strong. Black is scoreless at the half.
