September 9, 201412 yr Incorrect. You're reading too much into it. The only way your claim would be true is if he was selling out his games on a regular basis and he STILL wanted to have less blacks. He wants MORE TICKETS SOLD and, right or wrong, he thinks that they would sell more to white business people. His current crowd mix isn't working. HE may be completely off base but his goal is simple -sell more tickets. Bingo. If he had an all black crowd and was selling out every night this email would of never been written. This is about ticket sales and the only color that matters is green.

September 9, 201412 yr 1.) The difference is FUBU didn't complain when white people bought their product. 2.) I don't think FUBU even exists anymore. They are still in business In 2010, FUBU relaunched in the U.S., rebranding itself as FB Legacy
September 9, 201412 yr Sterling said nothing about ticket sales . He was 100% against blacks simply for them being black. It's a bad comparison. How about his side business as a slum lord? People seem to let that slide for some reason for Sterling. What he did with his housing discrimination was far far worse than his stupid comments. I agree this isn't a fair comparison to Sterling.
September 9, 201412 yr You forgot those lazy blacks are always late to the games... :lol2: Plenty of lazy white people to Reds games too.
September 9, 201412 yr By the way, we do all assume that he is 100% correct for the reason that white guys aren't coming, right? In the south? He's 100% right on the reasons. And that reason is......drum roll, please..... Racism. Now we are getting to the heart of the matter...
September 9, 201412 yr His goal is to sell more tickets to white people. By his words, he needs to reduce the black crowd to do so... He said one theory he had was that white people were afraid to show with a mostly black crowd. Then he pointed out how it had no basis. Where did he say he wanted to decrease black attendence or stop black people from coming. You are jumping to and making conclusions based on a business owners theory. You are deciding what he will do based on that theory without any evidence. He didn't even believe his own theory had any basis in the email . This email was written over two years ago. Again gametime there has been two years for him to stop selling to black customers I'm just asking you for a few examples of the Hawks doing so and you have yet to show me one.
September 9, 201412 yr And that reason is......drum roll, please..... Racism. Now we are getting to the heart of the matter... I love when other white people are the great white knights of fighting racial prejudice and talk down to the rest of us. Hysterical.
September 9, 201412 yr And that reason is......drum roll, please..... Racism. Now we are getting to the heart of the matter... So would it be racist to cut back on hip hop concerts and have more country music concerts to attract white customers ?
September 9, 201412 yr So you think if he was selling out every night and blacks made up 80% of the crowd he would still be looking to "de-black" the joint? I don't know. Good question. The email reads that way if you ask me but everyone will have their own interpretation.
September 9, 201412 yr So would it be racist to cut back on hip hop concerts and have more country music concerts to attract white customers ? If the sole purpose was to weed out the black customers, yes...
September 9, 201412 yr By the way, we do all assume that he is 100% correct for the reason that white guys aren't coming, right? In the south? He's 100% right on the reasons. Yeah, racism. And he's trying to figure out how to pander to that crowd to get their money. If his arena isn't selling out but the black people are the ones still lining his pocket why wouldn't he try to get more black people out?
September 9, 201412 yr So the racism is fine until he sells out the arena? Did I enter a different dimension??? :taz: The problem is your definition of racism . It would be racist to deny service based on the color of your skin. I don't find it racist to decide to put more of your marketing efforts into a demographic that you currently dont have a strong foothold with. You are taking ideas and assuming the next call to action without any proof your idea of what the call to action would be ever happened. If he was going to start forcing black customers out and this email was two years ago wouldn't you have some evidence instead of just your opinion which you seem to always hold as fact. . If you find evidence of it then I will eat crow and have no problemishes admitting he is a racist.
September 9, 201412 yr Let's also not forget that he claimed he self-reported the email when in fact it was found after an investigation due to a seemingly racist comment made by Danny Ferry(that Ferry wasn't supposed to say out loud) when they were courting Luol Deng.
