September 9, 201412 yr So does the company FUBU (For Us By Us) not gear toward blacks, isn't the name alone racist. I'm not the US, so I feel like I'm not wanted. FUBU has received attention from the sports and entertainment industry, and has been worn or endorsed by LL Cool J, Janet Jackson, Will Smith, Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, Magic Johnson, Lennox Lewis, and Whitney Houston. I'm not seeing any white endorsements. Isn't that gearing toward one particular group. Daymond John - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 1.) The difference is FUBU didn't complain when white people bought their product. 2.) I don't think FUBU even exists anymore.
September 9, 201412 yr I'll try to go slow here. The market research says the whites have more money. They are targeting that "demographic" and need to alienate the other "demographic" to accomplish said mission. The only way to do that is by being racist. Are you up to speed yet??? Simple question. Do you think his primary goal is to get less black people to come to games or to sell more season tickets? It's not both so don't say that. Which one is his ultimate goal?
September 9, 201412 yr The difference is that the Hawks have enough people in the door, they just are the wrong color and don't spend enough money for his taste. Not like those good spending white folks do at our hockey games. Oh, and those blacks are scaring off the white people who do have money to spend even though we have never had a mugging or violent incident at our arena. Oh, and the Kiss Cam is too black. Maybe if we put some more white people up there they'll come back. Oh, and our cheerleaders are too black as well even though over half of our cheerleaders are actually white. Hell, all these negroes do is come to the games and sit at the bar the whole time. You never see any fathers and sons at the games either. And those damn negores never cheer in our player intros either. Not like those good money spending white folks do. Boy, now they cheer in an intro. Atlanta has always been known as the Black Mecca. If he didn't want a predominately black crowd that doesn't spend money at NBA basketball games then he should have bought the Timebrwolves or the Jazz. You forgot those lazy blacks are always late to the games... :lol2:
September 9, 201412 yr Sterling said nothing about ticket sales . He was 100% against blacks simply for them being black. It's a bad comparison.
September 9, 201412 yr You forgot those lazy blacks are always late to the games... :lol2: I knew I was forgetting something. :lol2:
September 9, 201412 yr Simple question. Do you think his primary goal is to get less black people to come to games or to sell more season tickets? It's not both so don't say that. Which one is his ultimate goal? His goal is to sell more tickets to white people. By his words, he needs to reduce the black crowd to do so...
September 9, 201412 yr Sterling said nothing about ticket sales . He was 100% against blacks simply for them being black. It's a bad comparison. We don't know if he said anything about ticket sales or not. That tape or email hasn't been leaked yet. He did say he didn't want his dime piece to be seen with blacks at his games. I'm thinking he'd have been perfectly fine with not having any blacks at his games other than the players, ushers and custodians. Yeah, that's possibly leap on my part but I think it's in the building.
September 9, 201412 yr The difference is that the Hawks have enough people in the door, they just are the wrong color . No basis for the above. His whole point is that he isn't selling enough tickets. The arena is always less than a sellout.
September 9, 201412 yr Simple question. Do you think his primary goal is to get less black people to come to games or to sell more season tickets? It's not both so don't say that. Which one is his ultimate goal? To make money. That is his ultimate goal. That doesn't make his words or that email any less inflammatory IMO.
September 9, 201412 yr No basis for the above. His whole point is that he isn't selling enough tickets. The arena is always less than a sellout. And in my interpretation of the email he is blaming it on black people.
September 9, 201412 yr So there are no ethics in business? Do whatever you want as long as it is a "smart business decision"? Run off paying black customers because white customers have more money? No problem at all. Just doing what is best for the business... :idunno: Yeah nothing to see here move along, just smart business.
September 9, 201412 yr His goal is to sell more tickets to white people. By his words, he needs to reduce the black crowd to do so... Incorrect. You're reading too much into it. The only way your claim would be true is if he was selling out his games on a regular basis and he STILL wanted to have less blacks. He wants MORE TICKETS SOLD and, right or wrong, he thinks that they would sell more to white business people. His current crowd mix isn't working. HE may be completely off base but his goal is simple -sell more tickets.
September 9, 201412 yr I'll try to go slow here. The market research says the whites have more money. They are targeting that "demographic" and need to alienate the other "demographic" to accomplish said mission. The only way to do that is by being racist. Are you up to speed yet??? I'm still waiting for you to show me how they alienated black customers. A internal email brainstorming how to increase revenue doesn't show it . If you own a business and you know a large demographic who has the most money isn't buying isn't it your job to attract those new customers. Again like I said replace black and white with any other demographic it's a non issue . I guarantee you the Hawks wouldn't turn down one paying black customer they just want more white customers. Unless something has changed in last couple years don't the Hawks have a history of bad attendence figures and bad revenues ? I'm confused on how trying to find new customers is racist. There is room for black and white customers because they aren't filling the arena now . Is it racist to say that concert after the game that are mostly hip hop and gospel probably won't attract an older white crowd or white families. While I prefer hip hop it probably wouldn't attract my father who has Beatles and the Stones on repeat. Society is just to sensitive. Like I said the bigger story I'm interested in was how this email was leaked and the power play by ownership . Also another side note how good is the NBA handling this issues. They basically released this news a few minutes before the NFL games kicked off Sunday. That along with the Ray Rice story made this news a non story almost.
September 9, 201412 yr And in my interpretation of the email he is blaming it on black people. So you think if he was selling out every night and blacks made up 80% of the crowd he would still be looking to "de-black" the joint?
September 9, 201412 yr By the way, we do all assume that he is 100% correct for the reason that white guys aren't coming, right? In the south? He's 100% right on the reasons.
