Where is the coaches show at?

Rondell Douglas was the young man mentioned in an earlier post (not Rondo). He is a Sophomore WR and can fly. It was fun to see him excel last night. Great for Boone to put together a good game. Lamb has plenty of weapons to choose between. He throws a nice ball and Marshall was superb. I do think Boone has to take a look at their defense. This is where Floyd can help out the most. Boone D was having trouble making a stop. Padgett found lots of room to run (and created his own space when necessary). For much of the game, he was Conner's offense.

 

One last thing in this staccato commentary. You got to give it to the Boone offense for coming out on the field after over an hour lightening delay and striking quickly. The delay did not hurt them one bit.

Total yards rushing 393; Marshall 193 yards & 3td's; Diaw 76 yards and 1 td. I don't have the passing yards.

Like I said in previous predictions, Conner chose the wrong guy for the Qb position and they wouldn't pull out a win with him. The kid is not confident enough to air the ball out, plenty of open receivers in the backfield but he throws to the side or runs him self. Conner will be lucky to pull out a win using him unless they move the end zones to the sidelines. Where is that freshman Qb everyone is talking about, that kid is not afraid to air it out. Why didn't Coach move him up? He is best Qb for the job especially if this is a rebuilding year for Conner. He has size speed and a nice arm, Not afraid to air it out. He would also have 4 years to turn things around for Conner.

I decided to attend this game with a good friend of mine who has a son who plays for Boone. So I got to see the same game that you did. I understand that you are being supportive of your son, but how does bashing another high school player help support your son? You may think you are trying to support your son, but at the same time you are bashing a high schooler saying how the other player shouldn't have won the job. Talking up your son is one thing, but having to put down another high schooler to do that is wrong and there is no respect with that.

 

Your evaluation of the game is also very bias. I am very happy that my friends son team won, however Conner's offense with the guy they had at QB moved the ball very well. In fact two of their drives had fumbles after they drove it all the way down to the 10 yard line. One came by #24 once he got do the four yard line, and the other came on a bad snap that Boone recovered. So they scored 26 points and had two drives that would have probably been TD's if not for the fumbles. The offense and the QB clearly was not the reason they lost this game.

 

As others have said support your son and be there for him, but putting down other high school players is not the way to do that. Especially when your evaluation was very bias and was way off because the offense with that QB played very well and moved the ball.

You can never trust parents in the stands. They say what you want to hear and then they will say something completely different to the next parent and give them what they want to hear.

 

Conner is young. They need to keep working hard and it will turn around. Its a good group of kids and I hope they can look at the mistakes from this game and move forward.

Don't know anything about this, but you will never ever get much sympathy, empathy or even an ounce of respect being negative about other kids. I don't mean the type of comments that we all make sometimes that, the kid missed a throw or just wasn't on his game. The agenda you have is framing a negatively biased view of the situation. You are probably very lucky that Coach Trosper doesn't hold grudges and treats your kid fairly. In fact, almost all coaches ignore parents with your agenda and move on. I know I did. Sounds like he is a pretty good WR.

 

It sounds like you are miserable and you have no one to blame, if that is so, but you. I really do hope you can find a way to enjoy this season. Embrace your team and support them all. These are all kids trying to do their best. High school sports should be enjoyable and I hope you get to enjoy it.

I hope BigC11 takes the constructive criticism to heart but I think with the silence from him he may just choose to leave bgp which I hope isn't the case.

 

This can be a great place to come for everything high school sports in the state.
