August 28, 201412 yr Sorry, Stewart's an idiot. He already played judge and jury on the Michael Brown case. He's doing nothing good here.
August 28, 201412 yr The last minute was (or should be, anyway) thought-provoking.Which would have been a great message if he wouldn't have given his extremely biased, unfounded, and clueless condemnation of the police officer in this case. When you rush to judgement on things like this like Stewart did, the message is lost. He wasn't there. You weren't there. I wasn't there. None of us know what exactly happened, but hey, in Stewart's view, the cop's guilty of murder. So a good message at the end makes little sense while you're fanning the flames.

He didn't talk much on the cop. If anything he crapped all over Fox News and close minded white people. It's always good to see a white person speak on the perspective of black people in this country. It reminds me more and more of how a lot of people just don't get it.

Fox news has been far better on Ferguson then cnn or msnbc. And he basically made it seem like the officer is a murderer, no matter the evidence. I like some of Stewart's stuff...just not this.

Fox News covered mostly black mobs looting and rioting, for the most part without making excuses for their criminal activity. That kind of reporting upsets liberals. I get it. Fox has way too much political opinion programming for my tastes, but the same can be said for CNN and MSNBC. Anybody can take footage of any of these "news" networks and create a funny video making the case that their reporting is extremely biased, but that does not make the conclusion true. O'Reilly, Tantaros, and the other FNC people that Stewart chose to showcase in his inflammatory monologue were giving their personal opinions. Of course, the on air opinions given by Juan Williams, Geraldo Rivera, and other liberal commentators on FNC ended up on the cutting room floor. What kind of tape do you think that Stewart could put together featuring the semi-literate racist Al Sharpton, the buffoon Ed Shultz, et al., if he were a conservative?

It reminds me more and more of how a lot of people just don't get it.He said the cop gunned down an unarmed black kid, didn't mention the robbery, didn't mention the cops side of the story, just his one-sided view. And if you're including me in the speaking on the perspective of black people in this country, you'll have to be more specific.

Stewart also said that Brown was shot with his hands up and never mentioned his alleged attack on Wilson. Ridiculing Fox for biased reporting while using editorial, not news clips, and completely filtering out Officer Wilson's version of events smashes through the boundaries of reasonable bias and hypocrisy, even for an alleged comedian.
August 29, 201412 yr I thought he made a lot of good points about the case and the struggle of race in general in our country. Of course his angle was to bash Fox, and they deserved it, but he did himself no favors with unabashed jackassedness (my new word) that is his modus operandi. So, like all guys of his ilk, on both sides of the aisle, once you peel it down where they could have made a profound assessment of the situation, they ruin it with their typical junk.

Do you think MSNBC, CNN and the rest should be bashed also?
August 29, 201412 yr I mainly find Stewart's riffs humorous knowing full well it's first priority is laughter. Yes, it's slanted. He says he's a liberal so we should expect his humor to be tinged with that fact. I laughed yet made no conclusions about the innocence of guilt of any of the parties involved.
August 29, 201412 yr Fox has way too much political opinion programming for my tastes, but the same can be said for CNN and MSNBC. News in and of itself doesn't sell. We've witnessed that over the last decade. Opinions sell. That's what all 3 do. I won't take any of them to task for being slanted. They're slanted because their viewers want them to be slanted. It works best for Fox. God bless them for figuring it out.

Never really found him all that funny, but then not everyone thinks Carlin or Pryor are funny while I always found them hilarious. You're not who he's supposedly trying to reach and I can guarantee you he won't reach them like that. That's the problem.

I'm not convinced of that.
