I mainly find Stewart's riffs humorous knowing full well it's first priority is laughter. Yes, it's slanted. He says he's a liberal so we should expect his humor to be tinged with that fact.

 

I laughed yet made no conclusions about the innocence of guilt of any of the parties involved.

 

That's exactly what people are supposed to do yet they get emotional because they have no sense of humor.

They are bashed though. CNN is bashed as much as Fox by everyone on here. I love when you guys get all defensive and put on your Fox hoodies and start crying.

I get it. Fox News covered mostly black mobs looting and rioting, for the most part without making excuses for their criminal activity. That kind of reporting upsets liberals. I get it.

 

Fox has way too much political opinion programming for my tastes, but the same can be said for CNN and MSNBC. Anybody can take footage of any of these "news" networks and create a funny video making the case that their reporting is extremely biased, but that does not make the conclusion true.

 

O'Reilly, Tantaros, and the other FNC people that Stewart chose to showcase in his inflammatory monologue were giving their personal opinions. Of course, the on air opinions given by Juan Williams, Geraldo Rivera, and other liberal commentators on FNC ended up on the cutting room floor.

 

What kind of tape do you think that Stewart could put together featuring the semi-literate racist Al Sharpton, the buffoon Ed Shultz, et al., if he were a conservative?

 

Funny you mention that as he noted that Al Sharpton has attend 3 rallies in Chicago since November focused on stopping black on black murders when Fox News was crying the same old tired line of "how come nobody is focusing on black and black murders"? The answer proved to be that people do care about it but no one in the news media covers it. Including MSNBC, CNN and all networks in the world of journalism.

Killed or murdered? Obviously he was killed, but the events that led to his killing is what remains in question.

No, how about you wait. First off, where have I had a one-sided view? I said I don't know what happened for sure so I lay blame at neither of their feet. I said I would hold judgement until the investigation in finished.

I also said it would have been a great message if he wouldn't have given his biased, myopic view. I pointed out that if he is truly trying to reach a certain group of people, he clearly won't succeed doing it that way.

Many of us do listen, we just don't rush to judgement.

Again, not sure who you're speaking of here but I have a sense of humor, I just never found Stewart to be all that good at humor. I've said that on this board for many years.

 

I don't care how much he makes fun of Fox News, I'm not one to watch only one source for news and it's not like I owe any news outlet some kind of blind allegiance.

He now seems to think he is a very intellectual political analyst which he isn't and he tends to be very VERY bias which has turned me off of the show.

 

There is a difference between John Stewart and Colbert, Colbert is funny and uses comedy for both sides of the political debate etc. Stewart seems to fall into the same line that Bill Mahr has fallen into as to thinking that they are somewhat important and feel they must push their agenda on everyone and yet they are very insignificant in the big picture..

Disagree. He was hired to deliver news stories in a different way. Humor was at the core but in no way did he veer off course of what I believe was the original plan. Talk about today's topics. Use humor. Cause discussion.
