Very happy to see him stay close to home so we can watch him play 4 more years. I think he will be a big time addition to NKU and open the gates for them getting more local and statewide wide talent. He has certainly worked very hard for this. Congratulations.

Congrats to Drew and his family! Good people.

I had zero insight here but I had a feeling this would be the outcome all along.

D1 basketball schollies are full. I don't think that's true for golf schollies.

Correct. Golf gives out pennies as "scholarships" for most.

The majority MIGHT get all of their books covered each semester. Matter of fact, I know a kid (well, man now) who the KHSAA Indy State Runner Up & the State Am Champion in KY about 10 years ago, and his first couple years that's all he was awarded.

Congrats to this young man.

Great to see KY kids receiving D1 scholarships. Congratulations to Mr. McDonald. NKU could have a solid team here in a couple years. Would love to see them make the NCAA tournament when eligible especially with KY kids.

Simply wondering, did he have other offers?

Congrats to Drew and his family. Great addition for NKU. Looking forward to seeing him play at the next level. Good luck in your senior year and beyond.

Article in the paper said he had multiple D1 offers. The list included:

Wright State

UNC Ashville

St Francis (PA)

Columbia

I believe the A-Sun removed the ineligibility on NKU making them eligible for the NCAA tournament this season.

Not true. They have two more years before NCAA tournament eligible. They are eligible for the conference tournies this year, but even if they win the automatic berth is handed down to the runner up.

That is an NCAA rule, not an A-Sun rule.

NKU will become eligible for the NCAA tourny in the future, but seeing them in it is entirely another thing.

2016-17 season is the first season from what I read.

That would be the 2nd year for those two.
