August 18, 201412 yr ^ Lets just add Chicago and Cleveland to West and let everyone battle it out. No one else in the East has a chance. If Dwayne Wade is healthy, and that is most likely not going to be the case, I would like Miami to be a contender based upon veteran moxy and intangibles. I expect Bosh to have a resurgence of sorts. Deng is a solid addition. All hinges upon Wade... maybe his weight loss will help.

Agreed but they would get walloped by any of the best from the West during a 7 games series.

August 18, 201412 yr I'm now on record saying they will win the East. I would hope so... I don't think Marion makes a difference in that regard.
August 18, 201412 yr Author I would hope so... I don't think Marion makes a difference in that regard. Not a major difference but his addition doesn't hurt them at all.
August 18, 201412 yr Not a major difference but his addition doesn't hurt them at all. Definitely doesn't hurt. But they have very little competition in the East, IMO.

August 19, 201412 yr Only Chicago IF Rose is healthy. He's more fraile than DWade these days. He sure hasn't lost any speed or athleticism, he didn't look like he missed a step when I saw him play.
August 25, 201412 yr Good move. Part of Lebron's issues is playing the number of minutes he's asked to and Marion can expend his energy being a defensive stopper on the wing and giving LeBron a rest on that end.
August 25, 201412 yr Author He sure hasn't lost any speed or athleticism, he didn't look like he missed a step when I saw him play. And then he misses two practices and a game an is relegated to coming off of the bench to relieve Kyrie Irving in the FIBA World Cup. He ain't ready.
August 27, 201412 yr K Love can't guard PP92. So Marion is a definite upgrade. And he'll make that jacked up jumper when he's uncontested. K Love can't guard but that's about all you can say about his game. Dude can stretch the floor, rebounds extremely well, and throws pinpoint outlets. Letting him crash the boards and throw on a dime to LeBron while running down the floor with a full head of steam is going to give them a ton of transition opportunities. In the half court, he can drag a big away from the rim with the threat of his shot and will be nasty with LeBron in the pick and roll/pop/fade game. If I'm a Cavs fan, anything Marion adds on offense is only gravy, especially if we're talking about a healthy Irving and Varejo getting whichever big isn't on Love for putbacks. If I'm a Cavs fan, I'm just glad he's a guy that can spell LeBron on the defensive end, especially during the grind of the regular season when teams are going to be overmatched enough as is and you want to keep your star fresh for the postseason. In the Dallas-San Antonio 7 game series during the first round of this year's playoffs, he averaged around 5.5 Rebs, 1 steal, and 2 assists per game. Nothing spectacular, but if he just does that for Cleveland during the playoffs next season, they'll be pretty dangerous, because he's going to be on a much more talent-laden roster.
