August 13, 201412 yr While the team was fun to watch again yesterday, the highlight of the game was when Cal was on the broadcast. The play when Ulis got the ball & Cal said something like, "Watch this...watch how he pushes it" and then Ulis pushes it leading to an easy bucket & Cal says, "That's just what he does." :lol2: There were at least 3 plays when he told us what was going to happen before it happened. I've really liked what I have seen from this club, even though it doesn't really count for anything. They seem to enjoy sharing the ball, which is a big-time positive. And I still think Poythress is the main story of the Bahamas so far, just speaking in terms of individual performances.

August 13, 201412 yr You can be sarcastic all you want but the fact of the matter is that a SF in Cals offense has to be able to knock down a 3. He has stated that there is no true SF on this team and with the number of bigs on this roster Poythress needs to go out there and take that spot. I never mentioned leading the team in scoring and I don't appreciate getting crushed for repeating Cals comments.

August 13, 201412 yr This whole trip is one big PR machine. Now reports are a bunch of the '12 players will make it down to the Bahamas for this weekends games. Kid Gilcrist was there yesterday, the crowd went nuts when he went over and hugged Cal. When the game was out of hand, Coach Robic was making gestures as in to put MKG into the game fore that last 4 minutes. The crowd would have gone insane if MKG would have done so.

What worries me the most about Poythress, and it has shown some in the Bahamas, is his ball-handling--or lack thereof. That's the biggest barrier from him playing the 3 IMO.
August 13, 201412 yr It's been 3 games and 10 practices...They'll right the wrongs and shore up the little things by the time November rolls around....Not worried about this team at all right now.
