Red Sox @ Reds (8/12-8/13)

. . . and in perfect Reds timing, the email for Postseason Ticket Availability comes out shortly after the loss! Give us all your money for 2015 OR a payment plan for the same by AUG 25th and we'll hit your credit card whenever we make any round of the playoffs for all the games we MIGHT play in that round!!!

MOST IMPORTANTLY, just like last year, we'll ask you to pay / hit your credit card for 4 games for the Wild Card / NLDS despite the fact that it is physically impossible for any team to play 4 home games! (If you host the WC game and win, you would not have home field advantage over the #1 seed and, as such, could only play 2 home games in the NLDS for a total of 3!!!)

0 and 7 vs. Sox/Yanks

1976 as well. :lol2:

0 and 7 vs. Sox/Yanks

I wonder if they'd consider moving the Reds to the AL East?

Great bunch of Sox fans at the Park today, had the pleasure of sitting with some on the shuttle before and after the game as well as being surrounded at GABP. A couple told me they were from the Louisville area and got to wondering with so many at the Park over the last two days, are they displaced Bostonians or is there a strong fan base in the entire tri-state area, but especially Louisville/Indiana. A friend told me that Tuesday night was even more covered with Red Sox fans

You all don't have to tell me twice to never start a Reds series thread again... that was horrendous

I said it last week. Actually got it from Bill Parcells. You are who you are at this point in a season. They lost games 25,26 by a single run again. Unheard of statistic in this season. Cozart is horrible at the plate and it seems he always comes up In big spots. Great defender but has to be replaced. Unbelievable that they still can get hot when healthy and make the playoffs.

4-0 vs the Reds this year--I can understand why you hate them.

Could have been 0-4 and I would still hate them. Always have. The loser mentality prior to the '04 World Series wore me out. They blamed everything they could on not winning on in 86 seasons.

Seems like an odd time to dump on Cozart. Sure he failed to get the bunt down in the 9th, but then he got a single. Just 1 example of success among many failures, but the timing seems odd.

The real question is whether 2014 is an anomaly or the new normal.

2012 - .246 BA, .687 OPS, 33 2B, 15 HR

2013 - .254 BA, .665 OPS, 30 2B, 12 HR

2014 (partial) - .224 BA, .572 OPS, 15 2B (20), 3 HR (4) (projected based on being 3/4 thru season)

How much of the 2014 #s can be attributed to the significantly weaker bats surrounding him? When he was hitting 2nd in 2012 & 2013 with Votto, Phillips & stronger Bruce behind him and in 2013 with Choo in front of him, he had to see more quality pitches. Batting 8th, I am not sure there is any difference.

Does everyone agree that with his defense if he gives 2012 / 2013 #s (.250 BA, .650,OPS, 30 2B, 13 HR), the Reds are set at SS for a few years to come and can focus on other positions? I think there are lots of other concerns for this team to deal with outside of the SS position. Now if he has a 2015 like 2014, you may begin to be concerned.

The last three losses that this team has had, they have been in position to win the game and cannot get the clutch hit/sacrifice or whatever or make a horrible pitch that costs them the game. There needs to be some serious work done in the offseason to improve this team. The place that needs the most help IMO is shortstop. He cannot hit his way out of a wet paper bag.

He's not the only one. Check avgs. post all star break. They're pathetic

Reds have 60 losses and 28 of them by one run. What does that say?

Affirmative.

Red Sox Nation is a real thing. I've watched them in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Atlanta and Tampa (in addition to Boston) and their fan base always made up a large part, if not the majority of the crowd. And this goes back to the mid-90's when they hadn't won 3/10 World Series. I saw them play at Fenway as far back as 1986, it was a hard ticket even back then.
