That is debatable... Warren East and Etown would be pretty competitive with Warren Central. I have seen all of these teams play... Have you? I am not saying Bourbon is not good.... They are just not better then South Warren IMO.

Just looked at Louisville Centrals record... They are 2-2 with their only wins coming against 2 teams that have a combined 1-7 record.... How is this an argument for them being a top 3 team?

We'll get to see them play Greenwood as a means of comparison in a couple of weeks. And it won't be a perfect comparison, but we'll see how Central handles Barren next week versus how Warren East competed with then. Plus East plays Hoptown as well, making it a double comparison. As it stands at the moment, I don't agree with your assessment at all. And I have seen each as well. (Changed Greenwood to E-Town I see. Well that one I can't directly refute other than to note that E-Town really hasn't played anyone at all, outside South Warren. And they failed that test conclusively.)

 

What I will cop to is doubting the Spartans entering the year. They have certainly exceeded my expectations thus far. Preseason I had then down for two certain losses , to Monroe and Russellville. I now would be surprised if they did not go 10-0.

Warren East and Etown are not comparable to Warren Central in my book. Not ranked, lower division. East has a really good player, but that's about it. Etown is building but not there yet. Central has new pieces and coaches, but are clearly above those two.

I agree that Warren Central is better then both, but I feel that until WC gets everything figured out teams like East and Etown will be competitive. That is one of the drawbacks to having a completely new coaching staff and system.... By the time WC gets to the playoffs, they will be a completely different team then they are now though....

E-town's 3 wins have come over teams with a combined won-loss record of 1-11, doubt they are comparable to Warren Central.

E'town is NOT on Warren Central's level. No where near the depth, athletes or challenging schedule.

 

Outside of SW, E'town has an easy non-district schedule. Flip E'town and Warren Central's schedule and E'town might be winless (maybe E'town beats Hoptown, but it loses to Bourbon, North Hardin and DeSales).

 

E'town will be 4-1 after crushing Breckinridge (winless) and probably 5-1 after Bullitt Central (has a good record, but beaten nobody).

 

E'town could finish 6-4 if it's not careful (Louisville Central, Henry, Glasgow, Bardstown).

 

If E'town is among a team's best wins ... then that team's schedule isn't very strong.

We all fell for SW's schedule last year. When we are all making the comment, "Let's see how they handle Daviess Co.", you've got to be a little skeptical. But I will say, to-date, SW has done all that needs to be done to be considered legit.

The schedule is weak as water. They have a good chance to run the table. That doesn't mean that they are actually a top team in 3A.
