South Warren to me is clearly the team to beat not only in the West...but in all of 3A entering the playoffs.

They are the #1 seed in the even numbered district in Region 1. It is an even year, so that means their first 3 games would be at home.

 

If they win their region, then they would have to travel in the semifinals to the Region 2 winner for that game (even year). Likely Central, Corbin or Bell County.

Wat beat me to it regionals will be at SW as long as they take care of business.

Play Webster then likely Trigg and probably PT at home in first three rounds. But they have to take it one game at a time.

 

Everyone on the team remembers the heart break loss at PT last year 8 to 7 and hopes to get another shot at them on the home field. After that they would go on the road against central, bell or Corbin. Honestly once they get to PT I think all games after are gonna be close including the regional against PT.

I like South's team, but am fearful that as you said those close games really will end up biting them, as they haven't had that pressure to deal with. But hey, I'd rather be in their shoes than anyone else's at this point. 3 home games and the toughest of those will be a "pay-back" game, so they will be up for that one. Then if you can't get up for a semi-final and final game, you shouldn't be playing...
