I don't know if he was the 1st, but he led the league in 78, but the Cobra won MVP.

Ted Williams?

Upon further review, Williams was the 1st in 1942. Came in 2nd in the AL MVP race to Joe Gordon.

I was looking for Tony Armas of the 1984 RedSox , he led the Majors with 43 dongs & 123 RBI and came in a distant 7th in MVP race.

I did a lot of things. Some good, some bad.

In one season, I played for four different teams. Maybe I was a bad teammate...some said so. A former Mets catcher said I had the personality of a tree trunk. I once sent a rat to a female sportswriter. Females should have never been allowed in the clubhouse in my opinion. I once dumped ice on a reporter, and I did it well before Deion doused McCarver.

My first major league appearence was as a pinch runner(not exactly what I was known for) for Willie McCovey.

I couldn't catch balls well either. I once made 12 errors in only 59 chances at third base. That cost me my job at third.

What I could do is hit dongs... long, long dongs - Try over 550 feet and landing on a porch roof on Kenmore Ave. I hit three Johnsons in a game five times. One season I hit 36 dingers but scored just 65 runs.

Over 400 homers and almost no HOF support from those vengeful sportswriters. Hell, you wouldn't have thought it but I even hit for cycle during my career and even pitchaed a couple of times.

I once hit a ball so hard to left field that it hit a speaker, bounced back, and was caught for an out. Another time I hit a ball that got stuck in a hole in the roof of the stadium. At least I was awarded a double for that one.

Correct! Gotta love King Kong! Btw, I think the speaker he hit for an out was in the KINGdome.

That's where I was going as soon as I read four teams in one season. I remember this from my baseball card collecting, I damn near memorized the backs of every card.

In 1977 "Kong" player for the:

New York Mets

San Diego Padres

California Angels

New York Yankees

I have the most wins for a pitcher who NEVER qualified for the ERA title, who am I?
