Alvin Davis ... man, I am a baseball fan and I don't remember him at all. I am weaker on the AL because I don't pay as much attention to the AL, but I have zero memory of him. And he held Mariners records? Off to baseball reference to look him up.

According to Mariano Rivera, I was the only guy that he did not want to face in a tough situation late in a game. I hit over .600 lifetime against Mariano. Of course, with an average over .300 over my eighteen year career, I hit well against a lot of pitchers. I was a DH extrordinaire, still the only DH to ever win a batting title.

I've always been an AL guy. He and Phil Bradley, Ken Phelps and Jim Presley made up a pretty nice middle of the order for the Mariners in the early/mid 80s. Never had the pitching to go with them though.
