Both sides are the problem. Neither side wants to give an inch. The Democrats want to keep control, the Republicans want control. This is where I say Obama is a failure though. I'm no Bill Clinton fan, but I will say this, he knew how to lead, he knew how to actually reach across the aisle (not just pretend to), he knew how to work with the other side. That's why he was so much more successful than Obama will ever dream of being. Obama simply is NOT a leader.

The administration does not need Congress to do anything to stem the current 'crisis'. It needs to mostly do its job under current laws.

 

Many blame the 2008 laws that allowed for special review of children involved in trafficking but that policy is being abused - by the administration.

Execution and application of laws is the administration's role. Congress can pass laws but there are plenty on the books. Or then can authorize spending - as if that matters - everything is a continuing resolution in that area anyway (its not like there is an approved budget). The administration can spend money without Congress - the recent call for Congress to provide spending was simply a red herring to pass the issue back to Congress.

 

One could view this as part of a massive Cloward-Piven strategy. It certainly creates a new deflecting issue that takes IRS, Benghazi, Fast and Furious and other scandals off the front pages. But its probably more of an administration in disarray. Since the Clinton people left with Hillary who are the key people running this administration? They know how campaign and blame, but who is really 'running' things when it comes to enforcing laws and developing policy.

I encourage everyone who supports these illegals to go to Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California and see what these people have done to communities. We as a country cannot to continue to do nothing. I spoke to someone from Tucson yesterday. Her parents still live there but that is the only reason she will ever go back. She said that it was terrible.

I know a programmer from India who had something similar happened to him. He returned to India to visit his family and made a mistake with his paperwork and was denied reentry into this country. He was a very hard worker, paid his taxes, etc., and was in the middle of an important project for the federal government but now he is working in Canada and unable to get a visa to return here.

 

Foreign workers who work here legally are forced to jump through all sorts of hoops to avoid deportation. Until they can obtain a green card, they are not allowed to change employers. If they make a minor screw-up, then they are forced to start the application process for a green card from scratch. The system encourages their employers to pay them less than their American counterparts. The current H1-B visa system is the modern version of indentured servitude.

 

People who come here to work legally deserve better treatment - at least treatment equal to those who are here illegally and ignore our laws. This is an upside down country with the inmates running the asylum.

It has been the only city in my life where i have never felt afraid to to go anywhere in a particular city.

You are mistaken. El Paso is not the safest city in the U.S. It is not even as safe as Lexington but it does have a lower violent crime rate than Louisville. El Paso's crime rate is much lower than I expected. It had the 13th lowest violent crime rate for cities with a population of 250,000 or more in 2012.

Illegal immigrants need to be deported and the sooner that happens the better. One way or another, illegal aliens need to leave. Will it happen? It is very unlikely because American businesses want cheap labor and Democrats want Hispanic voters - but reversing the invasion is the right thing to do and in this country's best long term interests.

 

As for defense being a worthless "program," that is sheer fantasy. Our federal government has a constitutional obligation to provide Americans with secure borders. No such right for illegal aliens to receive jobs and/or welfare benefits exists.
