CNN News isn't too bad, it is their talking heads that are over the top Biased. Just like Fox, Fox News is really good, but their talking heads are the ones that drive Liberals nuts. I generally watch CNN news through the day to catch breaking news stories...and I am about as conservative as any on BGP.
July 31, 201412 yr How many of these folks are willing to take in to your house without compensation from the Federal Gov't? I'm compassionate towards their plight, but I'm not about to let every Juan, Pablo, & Carlos come to our country when we already have more than enough of our own citizens with their hand out. You have no idea what I do and have done to help these people. I certainly do not have to defend myself. Explain your compassion toward any of these people's plight, because I don't see it. Most of these people don't have their hand out. The ones I have known work 6-7 days a week.

The CNN links seemed to have come from Lou Dobbs old show, who has since taken his brand of nativism to Fox Business.
July 31, 201412 yr We are talking about people whom the vast majority are hardworking and good. I am often amazed at how little we care for our fellow man. But still the vast majority are illegal and breaking the law and apparently draining our economy and sending billions of dollars back to their country and not spending it in the country they are living in and thus not giving back in the economic flow chart. So basically we give them all kinds of free benefits and pay them to work and they send the money to their own country and not spend it here. Talk about not giving back.
July 31, 201412 yr It's easy to put them in a different category when we call then illegals, rather than people. Though some (I don't know the percentage) send some money out of the county (I don't know how much), they also buy food and essentials in the US. Some are kids who have no memory of any country rather than the US. Surely if we are pro-life, we care about and want to help these kids? Oh...and the vast number of them are Christians. Doesn't that matter, mnt ref?
July 31, 201412 yr So if we assume the numbers are off and use half the figures, our financial payback for sending 20,000,000 illegal immigrants home would pay for itself in one year, after which there would be a savings of $200B or more annually? Would people support using that savings to beef up the immigration department to process more legal immigrants into the country?
July 31, 201412 yr The numbers don't include what would happen to our economy by removing that many people from our workforce, even if you could some how round 'em all up and send 'em "home."
July 31, 201412 yr True, you would have to have people ready to take those jobs. We have plenty of people on unemployment who could be put into the workforce, the problem is the training that would be involved and the turnover that would be created as they found jobs back into their chosen field.
July 31, 201412 yr If someone came to this country illegally, but is holding down a steady job, I say let them stay, and let's guide them to legal citizenship... If someone came to this country and doesn't work, send them packing. If you are here illegally and get arrested, you get deported, no questions asked. Just my two cents.

There is also that problem that many people don't want to work these jobs, particularly for the wages that they pay.
July 31, 201412 yr Save a little on programming ATMs that ask you Spanish or English every time. There is absolute truth to this. Cowtowing to another's language really, really makes me mad. That is the SINGLE MOST UNIFYING thing that a country has, its ability to speak a common language.
