No you didn't!! I enjoy Dogfish, although there are several varieties I could live without. The 60 minute IPA, Indian Brown Ale and Hellhound on my Ale are great. Some really are just a little too weird, and most of their beers all high alcohol content, so you really can only drink 1 or two at a time. I'm from Delaware and have visited the brewery quite a few times, so I'm probably a little biased.

 

That's a great tour. Their facilities are impressive...and you get to sample the beer. :lol2: They make excellent beer.

Many of those were the craft beers of the 90's. I wish I had the opportunity to taste a Heady Topper, that stuff is apparently impossible to get.

I don't care if Yuengling is overrated. I love the stuff. If it's on tap where I am at, I drink it over everything else. A lot of times I take it in a bottle over anything on tap, too.

 

I have Bourbon Barrel Ale in the fridge, right now. I like it, but it's cost prohibitive.

 

Once in a while, I like to have a good ol' Miller High Life or PBR, too.

I used to be a big Corona guy on the beach or just outside in the, but ever since I started to drink LandShark, I never went back. Both are only good when it's warm and you want a refreshing beer outside, other than that it really isn't that great.

I had Anchor Steam on tap in Monterey Fish House a few years ago, and thought it was fantastic. A year earlier, I was in San Antonio, and had Shiner Bock, and thought it was delicious. Before Yuengling was readily available, I had a friend who lived near Posttsville PA swing by the brewery and bring me a few cases of Traditional Lager each time he was headed to No Ky, and it was always very good.

 

Now, if I buy any of them locally, I'm not impressed. I think the takeaway, is that all are good when FRESH. Beer ages easily, and loses it's appeal. That could be why the "locals" are more passionate about their beer, because it tastes better immediately after it has been brewed.

 

Bottom line .. always check the "born on" or expiration date, and don't fool with ANYTHING that is a few months old. Just doesn't taste as good.

Yuengling is a bit overrated. I will agree with that. I also agree that 21st Amendment's Hell or High Watermelon is fantastic. So tasty.
