I guess that what I am trying to get across is that people think that because JBS is so small that they dont have a fan base. I honestly cant explain how they get so many but it usually amazes people.

Yes. I could see it as an off night for JBS. But they also had their big kid then too.

I'm not putting JBS down, but I've seen Estill too, and they have a very good team. The night they played Breathitt their 6'4 center, Clint Dixon, had a sore back. They should have still won, but they didn't. But Estill has good team and has played a tough schedule. And they can match JBS with no problem with the 3 point shot, but I don't think the Crusaders can match up with Dixon inside. That will be the difference in the game.

Estill should come out ahead tomorrow night.

Wow - an Estill/Leslie final would be pretty interesting....especially given that Estill would have beat Hazard who beat Leslie in district play - and Leslie would have beaten Lee who did the same to Estill.

 

A game - totally not out of the realm of possibility, however.

One interesting bit of information: Estill County has NEVER been to the state tournament while only making ONE trip to the finals. That was in 1955 while still a member of the 11th region as they were until 1977. This is probably the best oppurtunity they have ever had.

Who will do the count for the JBS fan base, maybe the same person who did the Matewan game. I have seen JBS and make no mistake they can play when they are on. They are not always consistant, probally youth is the reason, relying on Stepp so heavily could be their undoing. Estill is solid all over but they also have off nites(I just haven't seen any) senior led and I believe this is the key. Dixon is so solid and I can not see him letting JBS end his career. Should be a good game. I hope the train keeps rolling.

I am sure if you come to the game you will see an impressive fan base. The gym holds around 5600-5800 people. Your assessment of JBS is fair so hopefully they will be on in this game for my sake anyway.

I agree - there are several who could argue when he's at his best that hes the best player in the tournament.

Without a doubt one of the weaker region tournaments in recent history -- statewide. Scott County is licking their chops waiting for the winner of this one.

Looking at the four one seeds - Hazard, Lee, JBS, and Jackson City - which of those four would you rank fourth?

 

Most, I believe would go with Jackson City.

 

I know a 2 seed would not want to play solid teams like Hazard and Lee or JBS in their home town - so Jackson CIty is most likely who us 2 seeds will be itching to play first round in Hindman.

I see what you're saying but I think Jackson City may actually be a better team than JBS. IMO But they have never played this year so who's to say one is better. Jackson beat Hazard, JBS beat PCC, Jackson beat KCC so did JBS. Anyway the regular season is out the door. Throw the records away, and come tounrey time, folks better not be itching to play anyone but better be focusing on just playing, because itching can turn into a rash if not treated. Go Tigers!
