What was the final score? Was it close or a blow out? Wonder if the pollsters will take this 7 on 7 into account when the NKY and State rankings are published.

I watched 90% of the 7 v 7 before leaving for work. No one was keeping score on a clipboard that I saw, so I guess I will have to watch the Hudl video to give the much anticipated score.

 

I can tell you that Conner was very competitive in this event. They completed plenty of passes and defended relatively well. The one aspect in which Conner failed was covering Venneman deep. He ran past them like they were standing still.

I honestly do not know what the "score" of the 7 on 7 was; that would be very difficult to keep track of. I was simply explaining that HHS was working a lot on the underneath/shorter routes, or taking what the defense was giving them, because Conner's DBs and LBs were bailing right away because they knew it was going to be a pass. That is all part of winning football games... Taking what the defense gives you. No one gets better by launching the ball down field just because it's 7 on 7; creates bad, bad habits.

Hope this win for Conner in a Summer 7 on 7 competition will translate into a great season for Conner. I was impressed by the effort by both the coaches and the players.

Impressive for Conner. Here is the rest someone sent me off BGP:

 

Conner started off slow giving up 2 but picked it up scoring the next 3 drives. Highlands didn't like being down so they starting holding, hitting and tackling. Until they took the lead Conner was playing soft. Jeff Martin threw 7TD's Kyler P threw 8 TD's. Highlands had a great D in the red zone but Conner still made big plays. Conners, Boyd had a huge pick the only one by either team. Biggest factor in the game was Tanner Nyers. He played all out. If Conner can keep it up and have the line which they will, they will have a great year. I also see Highlands losing their opener it Campbell County. But expect big things out of the Cougars.

I'm curious to know why the writer said that HHS would lose the season opener to Campbell County? Did he base that off the 7on7 he watched?
