I agree, it's too tough to rank anyone because I don't know what the other teams lost.

 

Did BG lose enough with their big 3 to drop from 1 to 5 or 6? Did The other teams lose much? I don't know

I venture to say they meant Madison Southern.

 

I'm sure they did. In the article it showed Madison Central being in Berea, which is where Southern is. And yes, Damien Harris is a terrific player, but if Madison Southern is the 10th best team in all of Kentucky this season then Kentucky high school football is going to be pretty terrible this year.

CovCath is my preseason pick to win the 4a state title.

That's who I figured. The CCH - Dixie was very close but that was also the game where CCH lost their starting QB and RB. I believe their replacements each had a fumble that resulted in a turnover. But at the same time Dixie had a few turnovers.

After last year I will probably be leaning towards Dixie in the match up between the two this year. But this wouldn't be the first Dixie team the lose to a CCH team they should have beat.....

Hellbird, maybe I'm sandbagging but I don't think it's enough of a drop for BG. They lost 8 starters on offense AND defense. The kids that refused to lose in any situation are not there anymore. If they don't start the season well, I can see them struggling for a bit. Lex Cath, St X, and McCallie weeks 2 through 4 will tell you all you need to know as far as how they compare to last year.
