Practicing in Pads? Paducah Sun

Featured Replies

Doesn't this also hurt and penalize the team they are scheduled to play. I would say ineligibility for the playoff for the season in which the infraction occurred would send a stronger message.

...of course, that penalizes the kid for a poor decision by the adult.

That was my concern as well.

I would still expect suspension for 1 or 2 regular season games for the head coach plus probation for the remainder of the year.

Take away any scrimmages from the 2015 football season.

For what it is worth, one of the posters on Paducah's topix stated that the reporter who did the story said that they would lose a practice day in August.

Not enough if true

Every coach in ky should break the rule and blame it on an assistant or plead ignorance since it's obvious the KHSAA isn't going to do anything about breaking the rules.

Ok so he broke a rule. Rules clinic at the time had not been on line, so many coaches have not had a chance to refresh on all the rules.

If you want to punish the coach I good with a $500 fine. But taking away anything other than money at this point I think is over reaction.

So it wasnt just me that notice nothing in the rules clinic about the change.

Even simpler, take away two padded practices for every illegal practice held. Gets the point across without an overreaction.

Emails were sent to all ADs, Principals, and head coaches telling them when they were allowed to do stuff.

Maybe, but the rules also state we are to abide by the rules clinic (thats why we have to take it every year) and yet if its not in there.........well you do the math.

So Cordia gets death penalty for what a coach did or the Adm and who suffers, the kids. Suspend Haskins about 5 games and maybe he will learn to read the rules.

Whose to say he didnt read the rules, again the clinic notes have nothing about the rule change in them.

The rules were sent out to each school before dead period began
