I would imagine they are not only arming them but supplying them with intelligence and troops. A malitia or separatists would not know how to fire the weapon that brought down that plane without proper training. Putin is playing this like a game of chess and right now he's winning. The separatists are basically Russian military, Putin is using the name separatists as a cop out and for some reason its working. "Oh, that wasn't us that shot down the plane, it was either Ukraine or separatists." He's playing the rest of the world like a fiddle.

Also believed to be Americans on board. Turned out that there was only 1 American aboard.

They are citing findings from two US satellite/radar systems: one system saw a surface-to-air missile system turn on and track an aircraft right before the plane went down, and the other second system saw a heat signature at the time the airliner was hit. They're still working on establishing the origin of the missile by trajectory info. I'm assuming the U.N. is going to demand access to the crash site and the wreckage. Has anyone heard if that was brought up in the Security Council meeting today?

There is zero doubt in my mind that Russia is to be blamed. Russia "claims" that the unrest in Eastern Ukraine are only separatist. The west has known all along that was garbage. Russian military are within those separatist. Why else would these people make it difficult to get to the plane and bodies? Putin could, if he wanted, make one call and the investigators would have zero issues. But Putin does not, we don't need to ask why, we all know he is trying to cover it up, and that Russian forces are involved and have been in Eastern Ukraine all along.
