Did Scott County lose much?

Pretty much my thoughts.

Trinity, Scott County, SK, Male and X.

 

SK?, not even top 5 in louisville, let alone the state.

Unless they lost a ton from last season's squad I'd have a hard time putting anyone above Scott County to start the season:

 

1) Scott County

2) Male

3) Trinity

4) St. X (?)

5) ?

 

What did Meade County loose from the runner up squad? That was a hard fought game against the Cardinals.

I hear Butler based on last season, along with Meade and McCracken. Overall, they need to put together some positive results to push my Pioneers out of our hard earned spot in the top 5.

Scott County lost a 1,000 yard rusher, a Mr. Football Candidate (who McKee says the best player he's ever coached), three or four senior lineman, an all-state kicker and a slew of defensive starters. I think 8 or 9 guys in that class are playing at the next level somewhere.

 

But they also return a lot this year including two 1,000 yard rushers, a three-year starter at QB and a bunch of talent on defense. The only question right now is the o-line.

 

If they're going to struggle it will be in 2015 when their schedule ramps up significantly.

1. Scott Co. - 6A state champs

2. Male - Beat both T & X twice last year and return a good core.

3. Trinity - Only in-state loss was to Male twice

4. McCracken - Return QB and some very good skill players

5. Lafayette - They have 3 division 1 commits.

Henderson Co over the past 5 years probably breaks into the top 5 overall but they never get past the second round. They seem to hit 9 wins year in year out though, never having an off year so they get marks for consistency.

Henderson Co over the past 5 years probably breaks into the top 5 overall but they never get past the second round. They seem to hit 9 wins year in year out though, never having an off year so they get marks for consistency.

 

They lost in the 2nd round the last 2 years and 3rd round the previous 3 years. Had Male beat in 2010 but missed a chip shot field goal, lost in OT. Also lost in OT to Butler in 2011. That said until they can get over that hump and get back to winning regionals I'd have a hard time putting them in the top 5.

 

Hopefully they will continue to improve after a year of the new system under their belts.

Male, Manual, Scott County, St. Xavier and Trinity will be the teams to beat in my eyes. Yes, Manual because they are returning a ton of really good players and their youth is now experienced and haven't lost to Male, yet.

Oh and throw in Henry Clay. They are my dark horse to win it all this season if it isn't going to be a Jefferson County team.

Based on the starters lost, returnees, and the success of the younger teams last season, Trinity should be ranked number 1 in Kentucky 6A. The Rocks may lose a few to the out of state teams and go undefeated in Kentucky. The five game post season winning streak is what matters most.
