July 5, 201412 yr Author I would love to know what the Reds organization is thinking with Votto. It's more than clear he is suffering when he swings and is hurt. They really need to put him on the DL and try to see if they can get him healthy not for this season but the rest of his career. By him playing with a bum leg for this long, it could really affect him even more than it already will. It's kind of sad really watching him try to swing the bat.
July 6, 201412 yr I don't know why people pay more than the $5-7 minimum to get in and stand to watch this team. They are the true definition of boring, an outstanding pitching team that can't hit, which means most games are 1-0, 2-1,etc. Win or lose I'd take all games like the Blue Jays game a while back. Pitching duels just make me long for football to hurry up and get here
July 6, 201412 yr Author One of the reasons this team struggles is they don't take enough walks. They are 25th in the MLB in walks. One of the most exciting teams for me to watch is the Oakland A's, they are #1 in walks. They have 40 more walks than the number 2 team in the Dodgers. They have 120 more walks than the Reds. The A's have scored the second most runs in baseball, the Reds 24th.
July 6, 201412 yr 5th time the reds lose 1-0 this year. Top 5 starting pitching in MLB, near the bottom half in runs. Frustrating game. I was there and it was pretty difficult to watch, except for the two putouts at the plate.

July 6, 201412 yr Author How did you feel about Adam Dunn? K'd too much, gotta be able to make contact and have a good eye. This isn't a league for 40 homers a year anymore. The good teams in this league are good at small ball and timely hitting.

July 6, 201412 yr Author But here's where I liked Dunn, he didn't have a great BA but his BB's made up for it. Now if he could ever have figured out how to make a little bit more contact, I could have seen him being a HOF type of player.
July 6, 201412 yr Author I understand the lack of contact but great OBP plus 40 HR's. Sorry VOR, I forgot to include part of my post. I absolutely hate strikeouts. That's why Tony Gwynn is one of my favorite players. He put the ball in play and knew good things happen when you do that.
July 6, 201412 yr Author Jay Bruce has been working out at 1B. Thank goodness. They really need to figure out something
