Come on now people. Of course he knows everything about every team in the 9th region. He wouldn't have received his nomination as field general if not. It is quite a prestigious honor that isn't handed out without proper vetting.

Yes I do, thanks for noticing.

5, 3 against Cooper

5 out of 40 - you are indeed an expert :D

Again, using this logic, was UConn the best college basketball team this past year (or UK the second best)? I think not. Just because you get hot (or lucky) and do well in a one and out tournament (especially in baseball), it doesn't necessarily mean your the best. I would slot Highlands around #5 or #6 this past season.

Being a fan of Dixie of course you have to think that way. Good teams win when it counts. Period.

Do me a favor and don't be condescending. I never said I was an expert.

Here is what my points were:

1 a member made a reference that the only reason Highlands lost games during the regular season was because they don't care about the regular season and the reason they lost is because they experimented the entire time to get ready for the tournament. I made the point that in the 3 games against Cooper they played their starters including their #1 pitcher in the first game.

2 I also pointed out that other teams when they have the players to do so also try other players out at different positions and different ayers etc. And showed the example of Cooper starting 5 different ayers out at 3rd base alone to show that Highlands isn't the only team to do so and other teams don't use that as an excuse why they lost games.

3 also pointed out that Highlands is t the only team that had ayers who spent the majority of time last year on the JV team or even Frosh team.

Point being, Highlands was no different than any other team that had the players to sub in and out during the season to see who was the best fit.

The difference is other teams fans don't continue to make excuses for why their team lost to

Other NKY teams.

Point number one is totally wrong, you completely misunderstood the context of what was being said. Point number three is also not understood based upon your comments. Not sure where the last year JV talk came about. Hard to argue with someone that feels they know it all. Never said anything about Highlands record and not wanting to win. Not sure where your last sentence comes into play, because that was never said anywhere. They can go 5-30 and if they make the regional finals with a chance to go to state then it was a successful season.

You brought up the JV comment with Ramey. I simply pointed out that all teams had some of their best players this year who spent a lot of time aging JV last season.

I also never said anything about Highlands not having a successful season. Personally I think they had a great season. I also got to meet and friend some great Highlands fans this year starting with the first game of the season so don't think I'm not a fan.

This entire thing started, and maybe I misunderstood your take on it, but you made it sound as regular season didn't matter because the games were just experiments and nothing more. As I said originally I garuntee the coaches and players tried to win as much as possible. That was our disagreement. You made it sound as if Highlands did something that no one else did and that was why they lost games. If that wasn't your intention then it came out wrong in your post.

All of this coming from a guy that's team hasn't ever been to the regional tourney. Can't handle the Birds success. But the way things are looking, probably should get use to it.

Now back on topic.....

What will the blue and red colonels have next year? These two teams show up every year.

Wow, talk about someone who missed everything. I never said anything negative about Highlands season as a matter of fact I said they had a great year.

Try to comprehend what you read next time. The only thing I said is highlands fans don't need to make excised for the few losses they had because no one else does. Be proud of what they did and don't tarnish what the ayers did with excuses.

Bliehound, since you love to talk trash about Cooper, just be glad Highlands is in an easy district is all I have to say.

I was just kidding about this post. Don't want to sink to the level of blue hound

Highlands as I e said had a great year this season and I wish them the best next season as well.

Congrats to Conner for doing so…..and to SK for making the deepest run representing NKY! :thumb:

Just trying to get you stirred up.

It has nothing to do with being a Dixie fan, just someone who can look at something logically. Was Dixie's 2013 Regional runner-up team the second best team in the region? No.

They were probably 3rd or 4th best but they got hot and a bit lucky.

Campbell County has entire starting line up returning. Four starting pitchers returning (Becker, Eblin, Edwards, and Reynolds). Some key players had early injuries and several guys came up and played well. If they can work a good team chemistry, it should be interesting to watch.
