Adam Cannoy at Ashland is another good one.

I agree and I also believe that he is the only one at Ashland this year.

Owensboro Catholic's Senior Jared Johnson. Check this out:

Started WR and played in two state championship football games (2004 & 2005).

Started SS and played in the baseball state tournament in 2005.

Sixth man off the bench for O'Cath basketball team who is a favorite to make it to the sweet 16 state tournament.

This young man is a three sport star who has a chance to play in three different sport state tournaments. Not for sure that's been done before? I call that a winner!

Cooper is the goalie.....? are you kidding me? how do they get anything by him? he is a man mountain.

I think heard football as his calling and got confused. :D :D jk

The best 3-sport star I can recall from the past was Ashland's Scott Crank. If I recall correctly, and if I am wrong, someone please correct me, Crank started three years at shortstop, quarterback and point guard. He could do it all and did it very well. LCRW, am I correct on this one??

Yes he did start for three years. He was definitely a great athelete.

I know this is the boys forum, but to make a comparison, last year South Laurel's girls got to the state in volleyball, basketball and softball, with the same players making up the core of all three teams.

And may I add all were very good kids. The group of girls that are 7th-8th graders now could have the same impact. (I as well know this is a boys forum, sorry).

Brian Brohm did that I know for a fact.

Ok, guys, I am a little older. This person WAS one of the greatest three sport stars in high school in Kentucky. His name is Don Gullet. Use to pitch for the Cincinnati Reds back in the day. Pretty good pitcher and one heck of an athlete, no matter if it was on the gridiron, basketball court or baseball field. Three sport guys are rare these days, but you got to love them. I wish those days were still around sometimes.

Forgot about that! He skipped the KY-TN All-Star FB game because the Rocks were still alive on the diamond.

Matt Maynard of Belfry. Football, Basketball, Track

I find this an interesting thread.

When I went to school in England over 20 years ago I played 5 sports:

Soccer, Rugby League; Cricket; Athletics and Cross Country - I was also captain of our Quiz team.

I never really thought anything much about it until I moved over here and heard the talk about 2, 3 and 4 sport stars.

DAVE

Danial Harman - now at Pikeville. I watched him grow through the years at Virgie... He is an exceptional Youngman in all aspects. This kid can do it all! And you can guarantee 110% every time he go out, no matter the sport.
