Best three sport athelete you know

Featured Replies

WOW, have you seen all of these 3 sport athletes play? Your quote should have IMO at the end of it because it's just that, YOUR OPINION.:thumb:

And my opinion also. Farris is the best 3 sport athlete in Northern Kentucky, and could be one of the best in the state. Consider his age and it is more reason to title him as the best. Don't get so defensive...

Cory Gilbert of Ludlow..He's awesome..

Brossart Junior Jimmy Uebel has to right up there--All-State and NKY Leading Scorer (I think) and NKY MVP in Soccer (All A State Championship team), Starting forward and one of the best players on a District Championship Basketball team, and Shortstop and Starting Pitcher with a Big Bat for the baseball team!!

Troy Cooper of Brossart also a great three sport athlete as Starting Goalie on the same Soccer team, Leading Scorer and Starting Center on thee Basketball team, and now defending State Champion in the Shotput with a school record in his first year at that sport!!

One of the great advantages of a "small" school is the opportunity to play "everything". I highly recommend all kids try as many sports as they are willing to handle. HS is a very short time in life and you can't go back and recapture the opportunity. Too many schools try to dissuade atheletes from playing more than one sport...either outright or by "softer methods". I say play 'em all !!!

Daniel Pugh by far

He has yet to even play his best sport so far this year.

He is great at every sport, but baseball is his best.

Corey Farris of Boone County as a sophomore (Starting QB in football, Starting Catcher in Baseball and Starting Guard in Basketball).

He is the best athlete at Boone County and is only a sophomore.

Very good player in all sports

Vince Murray at Ryle is right there also Football, Basketball, Baseball

Quentin Morgan, Lelsie County - Baseball, Basketball & Football

Does pretty good in all 3.

I'm not sure if this is statewide but, it seems that in Northern Kentucky for those who do play three sports basketball is the one where they tend to be the least dominant (see Vince Murray, Corey Farris, and for CCH last year Randy Myers). All three of them were top players in football and baseball but in basketball they tend to be more of a role player. Is it that basketball requires more time and dedication?

Not with Troy Cooper... It's his best.

Was just informed that C-Gilb will be having ankle surgery after the basketball season and will not be playing baseball. Very unfortunate. As a centerfielder I once saw him run one down for a long out on the porch of the beauty shop. Switch hitting sensation who had power from both sides of the plate and as a pitcher threw in the mid 90's and had 6 pitches. Fastball, curve, changeup, knuckle curve, sinker and of course a screwball. Boy the Panthers will miss this guy this year.

Quentin Morgan, Lelsie County - Baseball, Basketball & Football

54th district has been blessed with 3-sport athletes, before Quentin you had

Lamar Williams and Steve Sizemore at Hazard

Al Holland, Jr. at Perry Central

Is Olinger playing baseball for Hazard this year?

If he can throw in the mid 90's, with 6 pitches than this young man is a phenom.

I'm going to add Tyler Combess of Western Hills. He is the starting point guard for the basketball team, starting tailback on the football team and is the regional champion in the 300M hurdles as well as going to state in two other relay events in Track. His freshman and sophomore year, he also ran Cross Country on Saturday after playing football on Friday. I thought that was an interesting combination when I read about it.

Adam Cannoy at Ashland is another good one.
