This was a dumb move by the Administration. Very dumb. And I'd feel the same way if it had been my son.

 

And I feel that way without taking into consideration the guy may have deserted; may have actually assisted the Taliban; may have caused the deaths of soldiers that were sent out looking for him; and the Administration may have broken the law by not appropriately notifying Congress.

 

 

I have been very cautious and judicial in my judgment of President Obama. I am as far from being a "bomb throwing" extremist as a conservative can be. I have come to the conclusion however that President Obama should be impeached. And I mean that. It pains me to admit that because in doing so I have now admitted that those conservatives "lobbing bombs" at President Obama years ago were correct and I was wrong. I don't like being wrong. I was terribly wrong. President Obama and Attorney General Holder simpy will do whatever they want to do, regardless of the law.

I agree that President Obama deserves to be impeached but it is never going to happen. However, I don't blame Obama as much as I blame the leadership of both major parties for not holding him accountable for his lawless behavior.

The executive branch deserves a large share of the credit as well. When was the last time that a U.S. Treasury Secretary was not a top executive of Goldman-Sachs or one of the other large Wall Street firms? Supposedly the 'independent' (and at least partially foreign owned) Federal Reserve sets the monetary agenda with the TBTF banks implementing their agenda.

Here's a novel idea: Why don't we let the facts emerge before proceeding with this ludicrous impeachment talk. You won't catch as many "likes" from the right-wing base, but it might be the prudent thing to do.

 

The Facts: Law requires 30 days notice to Congress prior to exchange. This allows sufficient time for debate and discovery. This operation was not just an "overnight" action. They obviously knew where he was and were in discussions to make the exchange.

 

The Fact is the law was not followed. If as an American Citizen I do not follow the law, and it is revealed or I am caught, should I also not be held accountable ?

 

Being the Commander in Chief comes with great responsibility. As a leader you can choose to operate outside the lines, but you are always subject to the consequences of your actions.
