The people requested anonymity because the sale process isn’t public. Jim Nash, a managing director at Bank of America, declined to comment. Pierce O’Donnell, the attorney for Shelly Sterling, wife of team owner Donald Sterling, didn’t immediately respond to a message left at his Los Angeles office prior to business hours. Maybe this won't be so messy after all.

Could you imagine the turmoil during next season if this is left hanging? Players refusing to play, opponents refusing to play, folks boycotting games, etc. An NBA nightmare. It's much more likely that this is a non-issue next season than anything you suggested actually taking place.
