May 16, 201412 yr Heading there on Monday for vacation and we usually try to eat at a couple of different places each time. I've looked at tripadvisor but I'd like to get as many opinions as possible. Anywhere that may not be as recognized but has really good food, best steak, awesome crab legs, etc. You don't go to the ocean to eat steak. :no::lol2:
May 16, 201412 yr I enjoyed Lee's Inlet Kitchen, Big Fish and Driftwood Seafood and Steak. I loved Driftwood and it just took me about 30 minutes to remember the name, I had to really research since it's off the beaten path a bit and doesn't look special. I heard about it on the local ad channels in the hotel room, it's a favorite of the locals and the food is great.

May 16, 201412 yr We are headed to Litchfield Beach (Pawley's Island) in July, which is just south of MB. I plan on hitting up the Dockside Seafood House in Calabash, NC. Vaguely remember going there when I was a kid. I hear it is still excellent and reasonably priced.
May 16, 201412 yr Our favorite seafood buffet is Original Benjamin's. A great experience but a little pricey Here's your winner for a great seafood buffet. They pretty much knock it out of the park. It's worth the price. Heading back to Myrtle Beach later this summer, and already looking forward to my return visit.

May 16, 201412 yr To me the best part of Original Benjamin's is the on site model ships. I'm talking about incredible models of awesome ships, every peice hand made right down to the tiny details like people and deck furniture. No way I can do it justice, you just have to see it. They have a shipbuilder on staff who has a workshop in the basement. After dinner, do yourself a favor and go downstairs and visit his workshop. He is an interesting dude, and he also has a bunch of airplane models down there to look at. Ships

Anywhere that may not be as recognized but has really good food, best steak, awesome crab legs, etc. When you get tired of the overpriced seafood buffets try out The Farmhouse. On the main strip. just south of the heart of downtown. Looks like an old farmhouse with a large cypress tree out front. Excellent southern comfort food buffet with fried chicken, soup beans and cornbread, strawberry shortcake etc. It ran @ $10 a plate a number of years ago. Sure it's gone up a little since then. The seafood buffets probably run closer to $20-25 per person.
