Anyone herd anything about the playing field?? Will they be getting turf, or leave it as it is?

Im hearing rumors of a maroon/white scrimmage 2 weeks from this saturday at putnam stadium at 5:00. Teams will be evenly split and there will be refs as well. I believe admission is free also. Should be an exciting evening!

Actually new grass seed has been planted. Turf is a few years down the road if you ask me.

This will be fun, hopefully a good crowd comes out and gets a look at the new team.:ylsuper:

Donations will be accepted at the gates and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

I know several of the T-Cat coaches will throw in a few dollars to help this charity out and I'm sure the rest of the Tomcat Nation will do like wise.

Any word if we could get a PA man at the game???? AKA Dickie or Dirk?

A maroon & white scrimmage – what fun! I hope it’s done up right – with the PA man and all. I guess that we’ll need to get the field painted.

D-end is Termell Young (sp), 9th grade, pretty nice size.

Thanks for the name and information. He looks like a good addition to the incoming Sop. class.

I dont think that will be a problem!

Sounds great! When is the last time we've had a spring scrimmage like this?

I cant ever remember having one.

Got a comment/question/item for consideration:

Perhaps I'm a little paranoid (no jokes you guys), but aren't we making it too easy for our competition and just providing them the standard or bar to reach when we post our players lifting numbers or other stats on this forum?

It can be used as a motivational tool by other coaches and also gives other teams a handy measuring stick to see how they compare.

I don't mean to have a complete bunker mentality; like coaches who won't let their players participate in weight lifting contests, passing leagues, or discourages them from camps, etc.

Just thought I'd throw it out there to consider. I'm completely in favor of a strong weight program - thats what is needed to get past Rockcastle, Bell, etc (IMHO). Perhaps when our players have excelled someone could post they have a new high & encourage supporters to go by the weight room & see the totals??? UNLESS of course coaches prefer civilians stay away:p

Keep up the good work ..........

Cheers, Woody

Good point Woody, I for one have never looked at it from your point of view.
