Maybe its just me but while it does appear to be legal according to th elaw, I chalk this up to similar incidents where individuals make rather crazy statements and then are subsequently let go by their employers. Virtually almost everything we say or do is protected by the constitution as it grants us the right to do so, however that doesn't mean we should as it can reflect on the business we work for, etc. So while these two can legally have consensual sex with one another, just how ethical is it to allow students to have sex with their teachers? She should be let go after this ordeal regardless if its legal or not because this does reflect on her employers, the school system, and the board of education for that county.

Oh, I don't disagree that she should probably lose her job. It's just not something I can get too worked up over.

The normal age of consent is 16. However, in KY, and I assume most other states, the legal age of consent is 18 and graduated from high school if it involves a student/teacher relationship. In general, think of all high school students as 15 when it comes to sex with a teacher and you are in the ballpark.

May 9, 201412 yr I understand that, I'm of the belief that the bolded is an unnecessary law. JMO. I have mixed feelings on it but I hear what you are saying. I certainly think it is a horrible idea for a teacher to get involved with a student but making exceptions (changing the law in this case) is a slippery slope.
