April 28, 201412 yr Why should a player who maybe has played for a long time and never won anything have to throw all their hard work out the window and forfeit the playoff games that he is playing in because of comments made by his idiot owner? It's not fair to the players. Do you think Paul Pierce would be fine with just forfeiting the playoffs? If they decided to boycott the game it wouldn't impact their careers one iota in a negative way. They would forever be part of NBA and American "lore" for their stand against racial hatred. The positive impact of not playing would far outweigh any potential negative backlash and continue for the rest of their lives.

They can't just ignore the CBA with the players union either. Sounds like the only way the league can force a sale is when finances are in trouble.
April 28, 201412 yr I am actually shocked the reaction is what it is. He has shown himself to be far more racist in the past and not only did the NBA and other owners turn a blind eye the last commish while being in control of another franchise traded him a top 7 player in the NBA for peanuts.

They can't force him to do anything really. They can do everything in their power to make it unprofitable for him to not sell the franchise. I expect them to take that approach, although it will probably take a decent amount of time for the impact to be felt.
April 28, 201412 yr I'm not saying this to make fun but it all really reminds me of the show Friday Night Lights when the Offensive Coordinator had some comments that were twisted and came across as racist remarks. Smash became the ring leader of the African American players on the teams and they boycotted and weren't going to play.
