Had a class just recently that discussed all of the active racist/KKK linked groups that are still active throughout Kentucky. It's just sad.

 

Now with that said I spent half of the class thinking about Dave Chapelle' s black white supremacist episode (which I hear he took a lot of flack for) "If you've got hate in your heart let it out!"

The first thing that needs to be done is putting an end to the flow of drugs into the inner city. I guess if I was made Czar if I truly wanted to make a difference I would need to get rid of drugs first and foremost.

 

Also the kids need hope. Most have zero family structure and dont care due to no family structure. All some know is the poverty, gangs, drugs culture. Im sure there are some kids there that have such great minds, but will never get a chance. Because they see no way out.

Where ever there is poverty there is crime, drugs,and everything else. Poverty does not know color. Look at Eastern Kentucky.Look at the Italian and Irish ghettos in the early 1900's. Its shameful that we live in the greatest nation in the world yet we cant get basic medical care for millions of kids in poverty. Cuba has a lower infant mortality rate than us.

The republican party of today is doing a great job of alienating itself from its base. I was a republican until the last few years. Im now a independent. The KKK recruits off of illegal immigration, oppostion to same sex marriage, and urban crime. Who else uses that as a platform??

victim of abuse if they forget it after time...I can understand his frustration and comparison.

Pretty much every interview I can remember him giving he's come across as having a deep hatred for white people. And as I mentioned, he had to endure things that we can't even imagine, so I see where he's coming from, but he needs to realize he can't label all white people as racist, or he's the same as those he's labeling.

 

And ultimately Hank has become what he despises most.

 

This is also the classic trap many of us fall in where we think just because someone was great at an athletic endeavor, in this case hitting HRs and scoring runs, then he must be some beacon of societal truth or commanding voice. He lived through a challenging time and overcame difficult odds. He is not a civil rights activist.

First like most UN reports they are not done very well. Secondly Cuba and many of the countries that are supposedly ahead of the United States do not give care to all citizens and do not report all deaths. If you want to go down this rode with Cuba we can but this is a flawed argument and if I were for government health care I wouldn't use Cuba as my argument like Michael Moore. He went to Cuba as was fooled by a couple of the good hospitals they have for the wealthy.

Im glad we can get on here and discuss race and be more sensible than most. What Hank Aaron said made me mad, it made me mad because I never thought of him like that. I can be wrong.

 

Yes racism is alive and doing quite well in America, that is a fact. Its not limited to any color either.

 

I am a white republican, im not racist. As a matter of fact the reason I dont like Obama isnt that fact he is black, its the fact that when he first ran for President I believed him, I believed he was going to change everything, I thought he would be fair, honest, and trustworthy.

Come to find out he lied, he has made things worse in every account from Obamacare to the IRS and supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and picking sides in race issues.

Yes I fell into the trap of believing a politician. But I had faith and hope in Obama and he failed me. That is why I dont like him. Not skin color.

So we shouldnt say anything if we arent, should we proclaim we are not or just let everone judge us.

Years ago, I pondered this question for a long time. I finally came to the conclusion(and I am convinced of it) that we all hold prejudices in our hearts. We all have feelings at times that are indicative of racial prejudice and even racial hatred.. I think it's okay to admit that. Now, is everyone a Jesse Helms ?...no. But everyone has some racial prejudice in them. No one is free of it. And I say again, just as Hank has said, as Jimmy Carter has said, and as many others have said, a good deal of the venom spewed at Obama by white Republicans over the past years has its roots in racial hatred. May not be politically correct to say it, but it's the truth.

I didn't say ALL the venom spewed at Obama was racist in nature. Just most. It's okay to admit it .We all are racists. We can't help it. It's ignorant and foolish but we are what we are. Now, most people are not flaming racists but we all have our biases. It's a weakness, a human fraility. No need to dress it up as a big red herring in the room.

 

So, you are not "wild about Harry." I'm shocked. :lol2: I bet Barney Franke was not a fave either. Now, that's a bias for another day and another thread.
