April 4, 201412 yr So after 34 years of hosting late night television, Dave announced last night that he has informed the CBS president that he will be retiring in 2015. So let's hear who you think will be taking over the reigns on The Late Show.

April 4, 201412 yr Someone young. NBC already figured it out: the ratings are taking a dive in those time slots and nothing is going to bring them back. Fallon is doing well by being an internet presence and having his bits get big numbers on NBC's website where people have to watch ads before seeing them. I'll have to think about this for a while...
April 4, 201412 yr In the spirit of the thread, it's difficult, because all the guys I'm thinking of are actors more so than anything else. Almost no chance they'd switch over IMO.

April 4, 201412 yr I'm interested to see if CBS goes bold and maybe tries a woman, something that has never been tried in late night. Chelsea Handler (might be too risque) and Tina Fey are the first that come to mind.

It would be a bold move but if you look at the SNL alumni Fallon & Meyers they are doing well as hosts of late night. I think it would be nice to have a hostess in the mix.
