OK ... For starters I do think that the Tina Fey idea is a good one for sure. It stands out as a much long needed different approach that has been long overdue.

 

With that said...

 

Now, certainly they'll probably go with someone who we've all heard of before, but for the sake of surprise, they could also pick a more unfamiliar name, and one that's immediately easy to remember.

 

I've been saying for years that "Ken Jones" is a perfect candidate for a late night talk show.

 

Ken "Who" you may ask?

 

I knew that you were going to say that.

 

Ken Jones is in his eighth year as the chair of the NKU Department of Theatre and Dance.

 

Before coming to NKU, their T&D Department was mediocre at best.

 

With the help of funding from the "Patricia Corbett Foundation" (The primary and major contributer to University of Cincinnati's CCM Department that has largely helped them be one of the top Performing Arts Universities in the country), and hiring on Ken Jones, the NKU Department of Theatre and Dance has grown leaps and bounds, and has become amazingly phenomenal with the brilliant guidance of Ken Jones at the controls.

 

Now I'd hate to ever see NKU lose Ken, but I assure you the dude's got what it takes. As you can see by his photo he sorta has the look of Britain's Mr. Bean, if you're familiar with him.

 

Aside from directing numerous fantastic productions, and also being a Harvard graduated playwright, Ken has also fantastically acted in many shows himself. When taking the microphone at center stage to address an audience, he immediately leaves them in stitches. He's powerfully infectious and witty. Undeniably comical and looks great in a suit to boot.

 

I don't know Ken personally, so I don't know if he'd ever entertain this idea if presented to him, but nonetheless, if he did, he'd become a household name in mere seconds. He's that good, and I'm not exaggerating.

 

I'm almost considering sending a message to CBS and copying Ken to get the idea stirred up.

 

If Ken ever became the guy, I'd certainly rearrange my typical early bedtime hour for I'd be eager to sign off each night after a belly full of laughter brought to us from this Cat.

 

He's got the resume to back up my claims.

Colbert is really funny. Extremely smart and has a sarcastic wit.
