The Belt Goes To …

Featured Replies

Lexington, KY, the couch-burning capital of the world! Folks in Morgantown, WVa, are obviously upset about losing the championship belt, especially considering they invented the sport, but the facts are Lexington has been able to consistently do it bigger and better over the years. Until the 'Eers win something of note, Lex is the undisputed champ.

Always felt the Detroit Piston celebrations were the all time best. Tigers too in '84.

Who is this year's "Kate from State"?

Now that is worthy of a thread.

And I bet most of those idiots didn't attend a single game at Rupp this year.

Oh that's adorable. We have a word at Dayton for throwing a party like that in the streets: "Thursday."

It's only alcoholism if you can't make it to class and be functional.

Until then, you're just a drunk.

In all seriousness, you can pick out the alcoholics. It's not something I should really joke about. I knew them then and I know them now. It's a terrible thing when a drink isn't just a drink.

The problem colleges have isn't what could strictly be considered alcoholism, which I'd classify as a chemical or psychological dependency; colleges have a problem with a binge-drinking culture in which not only drinking, but MASSIVE amounts of consumption is a part of campus life. I think more and more kids entering college regard that type of drinking as a rite of passage; that's a dangerous thing for people 18-20 that haven't experienced it much before.

The riots in Detroit after those championships were epic...they did millions of dollars in improvements to the city.
