I'll wait until after the Districts to state my opinion!!

Even though Morgan County lost, Perry's team had a solid year. I like Perry or Cooksey this year.

ttt

I think the coach who wins the region should be coach of the year, now that Perry and cougars are out. I think that he did the best job in the regular season though.

All 3 are tough choices i think Cooksey gets the nod though.

Right now its Cooksey. But this is still very much up in the air until the regional tourney is over.

I like Cooksey

25 or 26 regular season games mean nothing...coaching ability (or a lack thereof) is magnified in March. Better wait a couple of weeks.

I too have been impressed with the job that Cooksey has done. I also think that Flynn has done one of his better coaching jobs. Murderous schedule which has caused him to be criticized at every turn and he has done a great job of weathering the situation.

I voted for Fraley. I know that there is a good amount of bias in my vote but Tim has done a phenominal job this year. Keep in mind that he has 3 junior high players in his starting line up. Rose Hill has been in every game and in their one big win against Boyd, Tim made all the right decisions.

All three along with Perry would be good choices. The 16th region is blessed with a fine crop of coaches.

Cooksey; but if a loos tommorow might hurt his chances

All canidates from the 64th district? Thats interesting.

What about Rick Mays he has three freshman in the line up, has won 20 games and is headed to the regional tourney.

I posted this in a RH-Ashland thread that was closed. (What are the odds of that?)

It is with no disrespect to coaches Cooksey, Flynn, Perry, Mays or others but you really have to consider what Tim Fraley has done in three seasons at the Hill.

He who took over a program no one wanted, a team that lost ten quality underclassmen (most to other area schools.) His sanity was questioned by his colleagues. He took his lumps for two seasons, and patiently rebuilt a devastated program from the ground up... the right way. There are no OJ's in this group to fuel controversey. The average distance to the school from player's homes is less than five miles, and all reside in Kentucky. Most have been at RH since grade school.

Rose Hill just posted a winning season. Nobody expected them to do that this early, much less with three 8th graders starting and playing majority minutes.

I will grant you that RH’s overall strength of schedule this season was not the bruisefest Ashland endured this year, but when you consider performance against regional competition, RH has not fared poorly. Rose Hill has competed in every game they have played, and have not been blown out of one game this year.

I have to believe that RH is the most improved team in the Region this season. Primary credit must go to the kids giving up the effort on the court, but for a coach to achieve what Tim Fraley has done this season with a VERY young and inexperienced varsity team is truly a testament to coaching ability.
