I heard the total attendance for boys was 17k+. Girls were about 4k.

Semis and finals for the boys were 6k+ each.

Nice little share money payday for the participating teams, OR is it predetermined by contract???

I think there is a predetermined up front amount reagrdless if one person shows to the 9th Region Schools. Not sure if esxpenses are taken from that or in addition. I believe the further you advance the more you will get. BOKC gets the rest or most of it anyway. Concessions alone are big $$. Don't hold me to it, but I think that is what happens.

It is a set amount and the further you advance, the more you make.

The BOK has taken its lumps (deservedly) in the past. They have worked out the kinks. The tournament was very well run. Parking, ticket windows, concessions, security, scoreboard, access to the media, internet broadcasts, getting cars out of the parking lots after games, etc. etc. -- A+++

Solid numbers on the boys side, especially for the final two sessions. Only venue in the Ninth Region that could have handled those numbers.

Each school gets a guarantee from the BOK. Not sure what that number is, but I think it's pretty fair and more than schools used to make when it was played in high school gyms. I think it's in the 5 to 6K range.

From todays NKY.com

NINTH REGION ATTENDANCE: Ninth Region boys’ and girls’ tournament manager Stan Steidel said the recently completed event at The Bank of Kentucky Center set an all-time attendance record with 22,251 fans coming for the seven days of the tournament (17,462 for boys’ games and 4,789 for girls’ games).

He said 6,305 were in attendance for Sunday’s boys’ semifinal doubleheader, 6,411 for Monday’s boys’ championship game and 1,054 for Sunday’s girls’ championship game.

Anyone have a write up of what high school games at the BOKC are like? I ask in terms of the whole picture: ticket prices, atmosphere, parking, concessions, or even team specific things like locker rooms, training facilities, etc.

In that line of though: what could be better? What should stay the same?

How does BOKC compare to places like Diddle, McBrayer, and the YUM! Center*???

(Just joking L'ville fans).

I have serious reservations about this number..........there is no way there was that many there, even if you were counting by 2.

Were you counting employees and players?
