There are more small schools in this region and those coaches take care of their own (meaning small schools). They will make sure a large school does not win coach of the year - unless it is overwhelmingly obvious.

I disagree He has improved and is a game changer. IF you don't believe that you haven't seen shelby play. Shelby's guards don't have to worry about getting beat because if they do they have a 6'7 human eraser backing them up.

 

Give him one head fake and you have nothing to worry about.

Wade had to settle into a new role at Shelby this year. He hasn't put up great numbers at Shelby but he definitely added talent to the roster. I have watched Shelby play this year and Wade is a much better player this year. He changes a number of shots on defense and plays above the rim on offense. Having said that if I had to pick one of the two post players from Shelby to put on the 8th team I would choose Chambers also. He is probably the most skilled post player in the 8th. That being said there are a number of players out there that could have made this team.

 

Is Chambers related to Vince or Dean Chambers who graduated in 1976 when Shelby made the Final Four of the Sweet 16?

Wade has improved his game. He blocks or changes almost every shot around the rim. Who cares if the kid can score in bunches defensively he is a game changer. He may have burned to many bridges with his move to Shelby to get the votes needed to make the all region team. In the end I don't know if it will even matter to him because he has a chance to do something special this season with the Rockets. You are right that Shelby would still be very good without Wade but they would not be 25-3.

This may possibly be due to the fact that Shelby County should be 25-3. Gallatin was not expected to win more than 8 or 9 games with such a young team. No disrespect to Coach Clark, but give me Slaughter, White, Chambers ,and Wade, and i SHOULD win 25 games. When smaller schools have a good season, it is considered an accomplishment. Coach Jones consistantly gets more out of less year after year.

CDirty i like that your right. if u give wade a shot fake he is done or just draw a foul. i followed wade since he moved to carroll in 8th. He had i think 14 blocks in gallatin his 8th grade yr but he also fouled out that game cause once they found out that he jumped after a shot fake they would just draw a foul. He has all the talent in the world but he'll just be another one of those ron artest kind of guys who runs the mouth and cannot block out other people. but when they played carroll the first game Miller from carroll blocked wade a couple of times when he tried to dunk.

Jon Jones cries too much. He is a decent coach but would get a lot more respect if he didn't protest every call against his team. I don't know where the COY comes from. They have had a decent year but even if they survive and win this very weak district they won't last long in the regionals.

EKU, it seems as if your problem with Wade is much more of a personal matter. By the way you follow Carroll, evidenced from posts on different subjects, it would seem to me that you are upset at his move to Shelby. There is really no comparison between Wade's game/attitude last year and this year. He has improved his attitude a great deal and his game has also has improved. He has faired well against drastically better competition. I would guess his numbers from last year and this year are somewhat similar. He probably doesn't average as many points but Shelby has enough guys that can put the ball in the basket. I don't know about getting a dunk blocked but that isn't that big a deal what I do know is that Shelby won that matchup by 25+.

Coach Jones has adone a great job with Gallatin and deserves to be the COY. As far as Coach Clark at Shelby is concerned, there has been a lot of talk that he better get this team to the sweet 16 this year. With all the talent he has at Shelby, other coaches may not have given him a fair look at COY. I've seen Wade as a whole different player this year than in the past. His attitude is much improved as well as his play. His problem lies when a team has a goal of getting in his head and bringing that attitude to light, much like N. Oldham apparently did.

:thumb: I think at the beginning of the season, they may have had a player or two who COULD have played their way onto this list. However, no one stepped up to earn their spot.
