This is about as David/Goliath as it gets in the 10th Region. These two went at it in Mt. Sterling on February 6th, with the Indians rolling the Panthers by 30. On paper this seems to be a mismatch because of Montgomery's size, athleticism, and length, but the same was said by some prior to Augusta's game with Mason County in the 39th.

 

Can Augusta pull off another shocker or does the MoCo train keep rolling?

I hate predicting these type of games. The whole head vs heart predictions.

 

I think MoCo is the best team in the tournament. But Augusta always comes to play. Both teams are playing well right now. As long as Bach is in the game there's always a chance for the panthers. MoCo is very long and athletic. On paper bigger at every position. So was Mason.

 

My heart says Augusta by 2 72-70 Bach with a game winning shot at the buzzer.

 

My head says MoCo roll by 15+. 80-65 sounds right.

Much as I would like to see David slingshot Goliath, the Indians have considerable advantages at 4 of the 5 positions on the floor. I had originally picked Harrison over MoCo in the final game but after seeing all 8 teams I think the Indians are the best squad in the tourney.

 

Augusta keeps it respectable but MoCo prevails. I'm thinking about 70-56, with Bach getting his.

He got 36 in the first game against Montgomery but Augusta lost by 30.

I don't think the Panthers will be able to get enough stops to have a chance.

Augusta will give it their all. If it gets close, look for Wallace to take over for MoCo.

Mason County has as much, if not more, depth than Montgomery County.

 

It's about effort & energy for Montgomery County. They were a totally different team in the 2nd half last night & it all started on the defensive end. They have to duplicate that kind of effort, because even though they are the most talented team in the 10th, they aren't talented enough to just show up, go through the motions, and win. If they perform as they did when Bryan Station embarrassed them at home, anything can happen.
