Jones said that 23-year-old Demetrius Ray — his stepfather’s son and his best friend — was shot and killed outside his Memphis home on Saturday afternoon. Jones said Ray died while the Cardinals were playing their game at Memphis, and after U of L’s loss, Jones’ mother pulled him aside and told him about a much greater one.

Was Pitino and the SMU assistant having words in the handshake line? Didn't know if they were acquaintances or what? Did it have to do with Harrell dunking at the end?

People are giving it to Trez on Twitter about the dunk, and it's laughable to me... Louisville was trying to run out the clock, and SMU stole the ball and went down and scored. Now they want to be mad because Louisville decided they could play to the buzzer like SMU wanted to? Get outta here...

Did you see the exchange after the game? After the obligatory handshake, the big assistant for SMU said something to Rick, he turned back and they were exchanging words. Not sure if it was cordial in nature or what, but it went on longer than a typical post-game handshake. My friend and I watched it a couple of times and just assumed it was contentious.

I didn't see it, but I saw a couple tweets about it. None of them said what the context of the meeting was, just addressed that they noticed it.

Maybe it had to do with the ashes on Rick's head. That is always good for grabbing attention.

Agree. Let UofL run clock down on prior possession and then 1 guy goes "Rudy" Ruettiger playing defense to steal the ball from Hancock and drive to the hole (missed it).

Hancock, who was clearly cheezed off, pushes the ball back down the floor and dishes to Trez for a dunk. Can't have it both ways. Either you're not playing anything more than token defense and we won't try to score OR you are trying for steals and we get to try to score.

Great win the for Cards last night! I had no problem with the dunk at the end. SMU was still playing defense up to the last seconds so why not continue to play offense!? Loved seeing Ricky P with the ashes on his forehead; you just don't see that too often anymore. He's such a good Christian! I still love him though! Good call on shaving that awful beard!

That was my beef with the whole thing. UofL had quit playing, and some freshman wanted to be a hero and steal the ball. Well, when you get crammed on the next time down the court, your fans better not complain about it.

After losing again to Memphis last Saturday, I was very worried about this game. More than happy with the win; on to UConn.

Big AAC game tonight....Cincinnati and Memphis.
