I heard from a P&G employee that they came in on helicopter. Only security upgrade would be patrolling the rooftops.

 

I also spoke to an engineer that's dealt with over 150 companies in Cincinnati, and he said P&G is by far the most environmentally conscious company he's ever dealt with. However, they way the building sit, they were an easy target.

 

That's a shame but would not surprise me at all.

I think this might be a win win for both groups. Greenpeace gets their publicity and P & G gets some sympathy and a chance to put out there what steps they've taken to be environmentally conscious, which should generate good publicity for them. Gosh, you got me signed up for all the other libbie causes as well since you're building that box around me? I have no love for Greenpeace and find people who get that caught up in causes to be a bit ridiculous. By the same token I find the overreaction in this case about first responders being tied up at the scene as though Cincinnati is a one-cop town to be a bit much as well.

Having been to P&G countless times in my lifetime (My mom worked there 25 years, and Dad just retired from there in 2012), I can say their security is infinitely better than almost any other building I've ever set foot in downtown.

Although I would consider myself a tree-hugger of sorts, I do not condone damage of property nor do I think it is a good decision to put people's lives at risk...even the protestors.

I get that Greenpeace has an agenda that is in most cases worthy of attention, but their tactics are nothing more than terroristic. I'm honestly surprised that more of them do not get killed in these stunts. We have enough difficulty in this country with keeping companies productive and profitable and these kinds of actions only serve to bring that down. Why can't they just dress in rat costumes like the unions do when they protest at Duke Energy ? That's way more fun to watch from Starbucks. The individuals will be represented by donor money and likely plead down and not do any time. If an individual scaled the wall of the Carew Tower or any other building downtown, broke locks, trespassed, etc…they would hang them. I wonder if any of these individuals truly understand what a felony conviction will do to their long term futures ? I get it, you're possessed by your cause, just don't interrupt my future by your actions. That's my rant for the day, I have to go grill a seal steak on hardwood chips now….
