February 28, 201412 yr Could have been much worse, though a few punches were thrown. Got started when former UK recruit KC Ross miller chucked a ball and incited things as fans of Utah Valley State were rushing on to the court to celebrate beating NMSU. Let the kids have fun, right?
February 28, 201412 yr Tough spot for the coaches. Bear hugging their players to try and prevent them from doing anything, surrounding by college students getting physical.
February 28, 201412 yr ......... #12 for the burgundy team is a moron and started the whole thing with his nonsense. He'll have some time off.
February 28, 201412 yr Not for storming the floor. Have always thought it was dangerous and something like this could happen anytime. However, If the player acts right none of this happens. He should be done for the year. Not sure why college sports continues to allow athletes to act like this and get away with it saying its the heat of the moment and other excuses.
February 28, 201412 yr That was more of a rain shower than storming the court. But once he threw the ball it was all downhill from there.
February 28, 201412 yr It was a matter of time before something like this happened and got this level of press. Unless they (The schools and the NCAA) get a handle on it, these will continue to happen and people will really get hurt.
February 28, 201412 yr Its real simple, if your not staff or part of the game or operations, no need to be on the floor. If you go on the floor, arrest and prosecution, if need be physically force will be used.
February 28, 201412 yr ........ This had little to do with storming the court and everything to do with #12 slinging the ball at the white team once the game ended. Let's not ban beer nuts during prohibition here, the issue at hand was #12's behavior. He doesn't raise the emotions and incite the anger and hostility, this is a normal post-game celebration. I don't love court storming, but it wasn't the root cause of the issue here.

I don't love court storming, but it wasn't the root cause of the issue here. No person has said otherwise, but this issue highlights the problem. You take a charged up, overly emotional teenager that puts their heart in to a game and loses, volatile things are bound to happen. Kids cuss, spike balls, want to punch something, etc. after losing, it is not best to throw hundreds of people in their only sanctuary rooting against everything they are. You are pouring gasoline on to a fire.

February 28, 201412 yr Storming the court anywhere at anytime is just stupid imo. There is nothing good that can come out of it. When one thinks about it, even if there are no fights or injuries what has been accomplished and why ? They say let the fans have fun. To me the fans may be having fun but are putting people in danger that may not be or want to be involved in the celebration. Also...another thing that this does accomplish, your storming the court is telling everyone that your team is basically a bad one with very little to no chance of winning anything. Teams with winning traditions, high expectations in every season do not storm the court. Fans...should you be one that would do this then think about and don't let everyone think that you are expecting to win, will again and have done it before rather than removing all doubt that you and your team are losers and expect nothing better than the shocking win that you just had.
