I can see where you were confused. I've always been told that no means yes....

My plant is closed. However, we are a global company, and I have had many US holidays where I am traveling or attending meetings in other regions. Most usually they are Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor day. Christmas and New Years day are never an issue...sometimes Thanksgiving is, but normally the company attempts to be respectful for our holidays.

I do not work at my primary job and main source of income. However, I will be working if the Reds are in town. Haven't checked.

I get 6 weeks of vacation each year and my company has been voted a top workplace in Cincinnati for 4 years straight! Boom!

Nope, though someone from my team is ALWAYS on-call. Since the place is closed down I'd highly doubt anything will happen that day.

This came up in another thread. I said the majority of the people I know do not work on Memorial Day. Some posters found that surprising or didn't think I was thinking clearly so...

For the many, many, many years there was no such thing as a Holiday on the Holiday for me when I was in the Hospitality Industry. Then I ran a Interstate Welcome Center and again no Holiday on a Holiday for me, for another 13 years but recently (last 7 years) I have had off Holidays off. Personally I would rather work on the Holiday and pick my day off when I wanted off, without the crowds, traffic or having to worry about the weather.

I am off.

I do not work Memorial Day at my full time job but I hope that every year I am working for my evening job.
