Duke 66 Syracuse 60

Featured Replies

It was a homer call. A block should have been called.

And yes I hate duke with all my heart. It's still a bad call and hard call to make, but none the less it was a block. His feet were still moving.

But it was a t duke where they cheat.

Your posts lead to great fodder for conversation with my kids. It ends up as a nice laugh. Thank you.

In my eyes it was very close, not clear cut like some of you are saying. No reason for Boeheim to go insane and give them no chance to win the game. This game matters very little in the big picture but you can't cost your players points in that position. CJ Fairs comments said it all.

^ My thoughts exactly....no real way to say. I think Cameron played a factor, in that they were in Boeheim's head like never before, and he just exploded.

The flagrant two was the worst call of the century....

It ranks right up there with the worst.

This.

Funny. Lots of crying about the refs in this one but NOBODY cried about the missed Hood dunk and foul not called in game 1. I rest my case. See y'all in March.

If the tables were turned. This game was at Cuse and they took the charge, this thread would have 10 replies.

The main reason this got so much attention is because Boeheim went nuts not because Duke got the benefit of what some would say was a questionable call.

I said the main reason. I can't possibly defend what some say. :lol2:

While I personally don't mind the call. Yes it came in Dukes favor, I think like RP said earlier. One play doesn't make an entire game. Glad the Dukies got the win. I'm really impressed that they did it playing 4 games in 8 days as well. Hopefully that gets them some conditioning for March. Love it. Ready for some madness.

Didn't get to watch any of the game, but when people blame the outcome of a game on foul calls (or penalties) and officiating, it makes me wonder if they "get" sports.

The game hangs on all sorts of things, but officiating is only one part of it. Whistles for certain things that a certain referee always watches out for may benefit one team and not another. It's the unpredictable, subjective part of an otherwise objective game.

If you don't think fouls or penalties can't change a game then you don't get sports.

Your welcome, anytime I can put duke down let me know.

Where did I say that? Sure all things that occur during the course of the game have an impact on it. To say one specific call cost a team a game is ridiculous. These things don't happen in a vacuum. Boeheim going crazy cost Cuse the game more than any call did. Sure if they call an "and 1" it greatly increases Syracuse's chances of winning, but think of all the other plays throughout the course of the game that Cuse simply didn't execute properly. If they convert on any one of those plays, the final play is drastically different.
